Zippy: A Story About Oral Immunotherapy (OIT) for Food Allergies

You amaze me both with your enthusiasm when it comes to helping families of children with food allergies as well as with your superb writing style! Plus, on top of that, the proceeds from your book go towards helping those with food allergies. (They don't go into your pocket book for you to "buy stuff" for yourself.) Well done, as always! Great, great second book!

I really appreciate this book as an allergist who practices food desensitization. This book is extremely well written with thoughtful discussion points for the family. It’s now available for OIT kids to read at my office. My own 4 and 6 year olds love the story and great imagery.

This is a beautifully written children's book! The pages are bright, colorful and easy to read. The author does a superb job of depicting the process of oral immunotherapy through a race car that is allergic to the fuel that makes him go! It is very cleverly written and even has an excellent discussion guide at the end that follows pages by number throughout the book. I own a pediatric therapy clinic and bought the book to put in my waiting room library. Thus far it has been a hit! I would highly recommend this book for parents or health care practitioners who have children who may need Oral Immunotherapy (OIT). Great book, I'm very happy that I purchased it.

This book is very informational but it is a little too much for my 4 year old to understand, why I gave it 4 stars. Also I don't like how on every page it has the scanning code, I think one page would have been enough.

So glad we got this book to prepare for OIT. My son loves cars, and Zippy and Speedy were so relatable for him. The back matter delves deeper into the analogies on each page and how OIT works. Best part is that the book is written by a pediatric allergist, so we can rest assured that the information is accurate.

My toddler has recently started OIT and this book has been brilliant at explaining what we are doing.
