Dutton-Lainson 400 All-Purpose Fence Stretcher/Splicer, 1

This fence puller has been working nicely for me. I read some other comments that were sad about "poor painting" and such, but yeah, there's some missing paint, but I've already had some more paint removed as I've been working on the field. It works nicely after the first couple of uses and more paint comes off from the sliding areas. So far so good and have used it a dozen times.

Must have for working barb wire fences. Very easy to use.

I've been using a come-along for the last few years and it was always frustrating. This is so much better! it works for barbed wire, high tensile electric fence, and also for field fence (horizantally and vertically). I used this to vertically stretch field fence after it had been crushed by a fallen tree. AWESOME!

It does what it's supposed to do for the most part. One gripe is you really need to clamp down on wires on both ends or the stretcher will give, hence the 4 stars.

I got these for my husband because he needed a second pair & he loves them! They are durable, exactly like the picture & what he wanted!

Like everyone else has said, it's painted over and you need a hammer to knock some things loose. Once that is done & a little oil it applied, it works great. It's not the easiest to clip onto the wire when you're doing it alone, but it is possible, and once it's clipped on it holds it and pulls it together very well. Overall, I am very pleased I got this and recommend it to anyone putting up a barbed wire fence.

Super heavy duty. Made like they used to be back in the day. Simple tool that’s made right and works great. Only thing is sometimes when you’re applying tension you may need to help the teeth bite the wire by pushing them down when you ratchet the leaver. Not sure if barbed wire would be better only ever used high tensile wire for my pastures. Have also used it for cable and works wells for that too.

It's a fantastic wire stretcher works good.
