Badly needs a proofreader!!!!
Decent resource that would have gotten a 4 or 5 star review --But. Guys. HIRE A PROOFREADER.It's bad enough that there are copy edit errors in the intro sections. On page 14, for example, you encounter a sentence that reads as follows:"One thing The College Board never does is write questions so you need extraneous knowledge to answer a questionIf you see something just seems really complicated or out of place, or requires lengthy calculations, odds are they put it there just for that reason."Thank doG *that* isn't a passage in the critical reading test O.oEven more irritating is that there are some errors in the practice test questions themselves.Question 10 on page 46 of the math section, for example, reads: "What is the length of a line that connects the points J(5,6) and L (2,1)? But on page 53, the answer provided is for the coordinates (5,6) and (2,-1). Negative one, not positive one. Completely different problem.Again. GUYS...One more example (not quite as bad, but still): on page 142 of the Critical Reading section, question 42 is a multiple choice asking for what is meant by the word "devastating" in paragraph two. "Devastating" doesn't appear in paragraph two. It's in the next paragraph, #3.The whole idea behind helping a kid prep for the PSAT is to help him or her build their confidence. When they answer a test question, and then become frustrated because the answer is wrong -- and then discover the reason the answer is "wrong" is because of a mistake on the test -- well, lets just say it's not conducive to confidence-building. It's frustrating and discouraging.I will say that aside from the typos and errors, the guide provides some nice practice questions and some decent tips on test-taking strategy. So I can't quite post this as 1 or 2 stars. Although I was certainly tempted to...Recommended only if you are prepared for some sloppiness -- and aren't too worried that your kid will become overly stressed by them.

Edit review
After going through some practice, there are quite a lot of errors found. Some answers were not right and some problems gave correct solutions to the problems but marked the answers wrong. There are plenty of typos. The publisher should do a thorough checking before publishing it.

Glad to say that she passed her PSAT based test ...
I bought this book for my 14 year old daughter to study when she was going to apply to one of the top schools in Jersey City. Glad to say that she passed her PSAT based test and will be starting McNair Academic in September thanks to this book!

Riddled with errors
My dad bought this book for my sister as she is studying for the SAT and PSAT. We have found several errors in the test questions. These errors are beyond typos. Some questions do not have a correct answer as any of the options, and the rationale in the answering key is incorrect. The questions that are correct are good, but it's difficult to trust the content when there are so many blatant errors.Part of taking the SAT/PSAT is learning how to answer the questions quickly, in addition to understanding a concept. Therefore, it's important to have practice questions that accurately reflect how questions on the actual test are structured. While I'm sure using this book can be helpful, especially if you are aware that there may be errors, there are better resources out there (at least there were seven years ago when I took these tests.) I recommened the books provided by College Board, filled with precious exams.
