Q: Can I set this tablet holder on a table instead of the floor?

Yes, of course! The minimum height of this tripod is 21". The Ipad holder has a ball Joint so the head can be adjusted up or down also, but you usually don't want to be shooting DOWN on your subject. So choose any flat surface that would be the right height for your subject.

Q: Is it stable? Can I adjust the angle ？

It is fairly stable. The legs don’t go out so far that it can’t be tipped over, but it would have to take a definite knock to tip it. The angle is adjustable. I have found it very useful and would recommend it, but it is a little hard to get my tablet into it. Once there, however, it seems very secure.

Q: Can I tilt this down so an online music teacher can see my keyboard? Does the iPad stay in place when tilting forward and down?

Yes, your the stand holds your iPad very securely . However you cannot tilt it down to enable the camera to view your fretboard/keyboard. We bought a separate stand with a gooseneck and clip to mount a camera for fretboard/keyboard view.

It should have fit... maybe you didn't see there are different sizes.
