Is there any other dash cam?!?
Can't say much for the longevity, but if is like the other 3 I've had, it's not a problem. This is what I've been looking for. Hi resolution front camera, and 180 degree. And a rear camera with infared, and 720p (not my first choice). This camera works well with the drive app, although I find it easier to just hook it to my computer. I bought a nextbase (HUGE mistake), after hearing recordings from it, the Garmin microphone is much better and distorts some with the windows down. The only downside is there is no screen, but it's not the biggest deal, it beeps when you say a command, and you can get on the app and do everything from there. I bought the suction cup mount to make it easier to switch between vehicles. It's actually quite impressive that Garmin packs all of this in such a small package, the nextbase camera is huge and does less than this one does. Another thing to note about this camera is that there is no collision warning, lane departure warning, and speed trap/red light camera warnings on this one, which isn't a big deal to me after the addition to all of the speed traps and such to Google maps. This works well with my keyocera (low model Android) phone when connected to Bluetooth and Android auto. I've been waiting for a camera like this for years now, and I can only hope that Garmin makes a camera that can mount to the exterior of the vehicle in the future, and have it link thru the Garmin drive app, weither it be wired or wireless I don't really care. For anyone that is wondering, I have a 2011 Chevy 3500 pickup for personal, and a 2013 Ford F550 cab chassis truck with a body that will not allow a view out of the back window(company owned). That is why I would like an external camera. I use this camera between the two trucks. This is the best camera money can buy, do not waste your time with anything else. Garmin may time some time to catch up, but when they do, they knock it out of the park!

Garmin should be ashamed
Many bugs, completely unreliable, lack of common sense features, especially in this price range. I have had this camera for about a month, and while the video quality is very good, the rest of the camera is awful. Camera bugs: The camera locks up about when booting every 3-4 parking mode cycles. I cannot be sure what is happening; I just know that when I come back to the car after having parked, the camera will have a flashing green LED. It will need to be power cycled to start working again and there will be one or two parking mode videos making it seem like it locked up hours ago. Since the camera was locked up for all this time, the internal fan will NOT be running even though it's over 120F in the car, so it's likely that the camera also overheated. The Wi-Fi on the camera only seems to work for one connection, and then it won't stay on. I have to power cycle the camera to get it to work again. App issues: The app can be used to make camera settings, and for this it works great. However, it just fails at anything else. For example, video access is ridiculously slow; it takes a full minute just to populate the library page. In the meantime, it just shows an empty library message instead of some kind of progress indication. The app fails to load the library nearly 80% of the time, so you can never be sure if it's loading or just failed again. There is no way to manually mark a video for saving. If you happen to have an event you want to save, you will have to pull the SD card and plug it into a computer to copy the video or else you risk it being overwritten. Lacking features: The only options for parking mode is off, or some timer interval to turn off automatically. I don't understand how there is not a way to 'geofence' the parking mode so that it won't record at home, for example. I don't need an 8 hour video of the inside of my garage. The camera lacks a way to turn it off manually. In the manual, it states that you can just 'disconnect the power'. Well, since it's hard wired with a parking mode cable, that is a little easier said than done. I really wish I had gone with one of the Chinese brands instead of this one. Garmin is a well-known and respected brand that you would expect to make a high-quality and solid product. They really should be ashamed to release a product this bad.

Must have!
I spent hours looking for dash cams and I was looking for one that is able to record outside and inside as well one for the rear window. I thought I was going to have to buy 3 separate high end cameras with good quality picture. But I was fortunate to come across the Garmin Tandem so now I only need 2. Both cameras record 180 degrees and the cabin facing camera works great at night. This is honestly a must have dash cam. Pretty pricy but it’s the best investment in my opinion. I will be buying the Garmin dash cam mini 2 for my rear window. I may be a little paranoid but I’m sure you would be too if you had a brand new 2021 Challenger.

Four Years of Use & Still Going
I got this dash cam back in 2021; so four years I’ve had it now and it’s still going strong. The only issue I’ve had was the audio recording stopped working pretty soon after I got it and I never found a resolution to that but in most cases audio isn’t needed anyway.

Manual stinks
The picture quality and video is superb. Size of the camera is surprising small for what I expected. Unit does generate a bit of heat and I believe may be do the size of the fan/heat sink in the camera really not providing enough draw to remove the heat being built up. Double sided tape to use for the magnet to hold the camera in place is useless. Already has pulled loose 3 times while attempting to remove the camera. FL heat must be to much for it...trying another double sided tape before I attempt to hot glue in place or some other method to keep magnet in place. Not even sure a universal suction cup holder sold by Garmin would hold up. All in all good so far except for a few small glitches/issues. Will use another week or so before buying another unit for the other vehicle to see if I can work the bugs out.

Almost everything you want.
Camera is exactly what I wanted. I'm a Uber/Lyft driver in NYC and we had these stupid Nexar cameras pushed on to us promising to reduce our TLC insurance (which it never did). Long story short, those cameras ended up bricking and I had to get a new one. This one records the front and back and takes the old school microUSB (sadly not USB-C). It comes w/ a 16gig microSD card (ADATA) which I replaced for my microcenter 32gig card and the app works well. Now here's the tricky part since I seen some bad reviews. The camera connects to your Android device using bluetooth yes, but to it work fully with the app you need WIFI-Direct. A lot of Android devices do have wifi direct but sometimes it does not work especially if you are running root/custom ROM. Since my old camera was wifi direct too it took me a couple of hours to actually figure out the problem and it was exactly that. I ended up running a debloated version of my stock android rom which had the wifi direct driver working. One way to see if it works is if you go to your WIFI settings, check WIFI-DIRECT, and see it can pick up signals. If it cannot, the live view won't work for you (since bluetooth can't stream that much data) and you might not be able to update as well. Not sure if it works on iPhone but I previously had a iPhone 6S which always had wifi direct working. If you run a hotspot on your phone wifi direct will also be disabled, I use it on a wifi tablet which gets the hotspot signal from my main phone so that WILL work. Wifi has to be on for wifi direct to work. I wish manufactures would make this more clear for people because I KNOWWW people won't understand that. But the camera should work no problem even w/o the app. It has the voice and save button right there on the little camera which my last cam didn't have at all and its a veryyyy essential feature to record key events quickly. I only had for 1 day and its exactly what I wanted, I will update review if anything comes up. **edit** This dash cam quality is too low! It cannot pick up plates unless your not moving and right behind the other driver. It works well with the interior and exterior camera views as well as audio but the quality just doesn't make up for it. Its less than 480P quality, better off getting something else. Its way too expensive for such low quality video. Very disappointed. Far away shots and moving shots, it just doesn't do it! I say this because it had trouble picking up plates of someone who caused an accident. **edit** The app is janky. When it comes time to download video its always disconnecting. I had to remove the sd card and export it to my pc but can also use a usb a adapter on my phone and download it that way.

Top quality from a top brand
The camera features a modern and streamlined design, allowing for easy installation. Its accompanying app is designed with user-friendliness in mind, making it accessible for a wide range of users. One of the notable features is the inclusion of both front and back cameras, providing versatility for various recording needs.

Not good
Last update. Garmin had me ship the new cam to them they sent back a well used cam missing the mount. I give up. They won't allow communication so I give up. I have a cam used 2 weeks. Horrible. Waste of $500.00 with the hardware kit. I got much much better from the Wolfbox G850 system at less than 200 bucks. It's way superior to the Garmin crap. A real rear view cam and the main cam is awesome. I ordered a other one for my car. Anyone want this Garmin trash at half price contact me. UPDATE: OMG the cam started buzzing like crazy just parked. The thing was going into meltdown mode. Unplugged it waited an hr to be able to touch it and pulled it in to contact Garmin. Horrible customer support. After 2 or 3 attempts to converse with chat. I kept getting cut off then I called just to get a foreign accent that I couldn't understand and the guy had no idea what a dash cam was. Frustrated I took a calming moment and called again. After a few more attempts I actually got someone who could speak English and he confirmed this unit is junk. Brand new. He set me up with the email chain to the print return label page to the send it back and wait a few weeks for a replacement. Now I looked up this problem and it's a known issue. Just a very bad design. Garmin doesnt make an actual front-rear camera. Not a single one. This is a front and interior cam. Why the hell would you want an interior cam unless your an Uber driver? I'm just blown away by the crappy service and the crappy product Garmin makes. Hard to see a big name fall like this bit is has officially hit the bottom. I'm going to order another cam from Korea probably and get some QUAILTY and an actual front and rear camera like I wanted in the first place. Company names mean nothing about the quality these days. Avoid Garmin......... Found the best system. Wolfbox G850. It has everything and more. I now own 2 and ordering a 3rd. Selling this Garmin junk on Craigslist. ,............................................ I thought I had a good item here. Turns out it is junk. It Won't record more than a few hours video. It is very unstable. I called the tech and just got the usual B.S. they all give. Just blame me for buying crap is what it came down to. I paid $500.00 for this cam and connector and it won't record or store recordings properly. I was told by the tech that a 128 gig card will Only Hold a couple hours of video. What? I've had several cams that held a week's worth on much less. It comes with a 16 gig card. I guess that's for 5 min only? Don't waste your time buying Garmin

stopped working after 2 years
It was great until it randomly stopped working after 2 years. It wasn't damaged or anything, I just turned on the car one day and noticed the camera is dead. Tried to use different cables, SD cards, hold buttons etc - nothing works, it's completely dead. Pretty frustrating for a $500 camera.

Very good for the price and very easy to install and setup
It's a tiny camera with very good image (bot in front and back). It's not fabulous, but for the price, it's a great camera. Very easy to install and setup. Comes with all the accessories that you need. The only minus that I can think off is that is not recording while parked. Other than that, perfect choice.

OVERHEAT SHUTDOWN and poor network speed
when exposed to sunlight it shuts down and cannot function. Also the video transfer/preview is laggy and you'ii have to wait for minutes until it loads seconds of footage
