Purchased multiple sets of these and have used for two fall/winter seasons on sxs, mower and motorcycles. Have not had any issues. Have even used on my trucks, outside in -20 without any issues, to date.

Bought the Pair deal. Currently for the past few days; One is on a mid size RV/ATV battery, (3/4 a full size auto battery/1/2 haff the size of a pick-up truck battery) and the other one a small compact totally sealed unit for ATV/Motorcycles. Plan on using on all my motorcycle/Diesel tractor batteries as well. They work but my concern is how they charge and is confusing even for someone like me schooled in battery technology. When you first connect them to any battery, regardless of voltage: they go through a progressing variable voltage pulse cycle charge over just one minute in length and then the charged light comes on and charging stops! My older batteries still sitting at only around 12.2 - 12.3 volts at this moment! (Even does this on new/fresh batteries closer to 13 volts.) I was expecting a consistent bulk charge to commence on the older batteries but it never did. Instead I came back later, (not going to stand there 100% of the time!) and noticed it performing a periodic short duration float charge cycle. Over a period of about a day this brings both types of batteries up to around 12.7+ volts which is what I was hoping for from these units. However the smaller sealed unit on day 2 went into what I can best describe as bulk mode charge because the voltage remained high above 16+V (Not absorption mode like I would expect after 2 days, maybe it was and equalizer mode?), The red light staying on consistently then the light goes off for a moment then comes back on steady again.) (I wasn't checking for current, [broken meter]) (Charger was pushing 16+ volts at that time.) The battery was boiling vigorously enough I was concerned of over pressure of this sealed type, being winter no issue with temperature but I still shut down the charger. This pushed the small battery stand alone voltage up to around 13.4V. The next day, the rested voltage of this older 3 year+ old sealed battery was sitting at 12.8V so no harm done. So in conclusion, how the battery charger is doing it's business is of concern to me especially for the smaller sealed batteries like what are on my motorcycles/generator, etc. (all of lead acid type) No concern with the larger batteries in my shop. On that larger unit battery after nearly 3 days sitting at a nice 12.79 volts so no issue there.

I live where it gets cold in the winter: 20 below temperatures are common, and we plug our cars in, not to charge them, but to keep the engines warm enough to start more easily. Adding one of these to the vehicle to maintain charge in batteries in vehicles not used often, but which need to be ready to go, has proven to keep even batteries nearing the end of their service life topped off and ready to go, even in severe cold. The combination of engine heater and this trickle charger makes starting the vehicle as easy as starting when it's 60 degrees out. The added draw to the circuit is so small as to be nonexistent compared to the engine heater, and it has proven to be a great way to keep the vehicle ready to go. Notably, though, any battery in a vehicle not being used on at least a weekly basis should have some sort of means to maintain its charge levels, and for the money, this is an inexpensive way to prolong battery life in vehicles used intermittently, or even daily drivers in adverse conditions.

Love that these come with optional battery terminal hook-ups including the alligators and the closed loop ring ends to connect with. In some equipment like larger generators, they will have a trickle charger adapter already installed with the matching quick connect connector so, the extra connectors included will not be needed. These are easy to use and are excellent battery management charge systems for most chemistry configurations. AWESOME Equipment!
