Excellent cable and plenty of length being 10 ft.
Great fast shipping, item packaged well and no damage found. Amazon listed this product with the highest ratings and it looks to be that good. This was a great upgrade from the 6 ft cable I have been using and stretching the cable too far to reach the computer. This one works great and fits so much better. Other reviewers stated they did not like the click shut button on the display port. I like it because it locks it into place so your monitor cable can't accidently become unplugged from the monitor. Fortunately, my monitor design lets me easily connect and disconnect the ports really easily. I tested it out on some games to see if it might flicker, but it came back good unlike some other display port cables I've tried. It also runs 2K videos just fine too.

It is my belief that the second cable was a good product and I would recommend this for the price
I am writing this as I have received 2 faulty cables now and am waiting on a 3rd. I will change my review if the next one works. I do not think I would give this product a 5 star because of the the 2 strikes now and the now 7 days of not being able to use my new monitor yet and waiting on the 3rd. I am not sure of how long total down time till I receive the next and hopefully last of the order. FYI don't send a monitor back till you fully check the cables, this one for sure. I looked up the website for Cable Matters and they are showing a newer white version for the same price. Maybe this is an old generation and the new ones have worked out the bugs. October 19th update on my above review. I left the above as to make needed corrections. The cable I first received was faulty. The 2nd was not. As the monitor had a buggy mother board and I ordered another. It is my belief that the second cable was a good product and I would recommend this for the price. It does the job.

Excellent cable for the price, and more than adequate for most users.
This is a great cable for the price, and is everything I expected. I use two of these at the same time to drive dual 1080p monitors from my 15" Retina MacBook Pro. I have been using these for several months for everything from basic productivity to gaming. I have had other cables that at several times the price of this one still had grainy picture representation on my displays. I haven't noticed a single issue with these and they are solid build quality. The gold-plated connectors are a single piece of metal that seems to rival quality of more expensive cables. I would recommend these to anyone owning a Mini DP-equipped device that needs to utilize a full-sized DP input. Pros: -High quality connectors -No grainy picture representation, worthy of at least light to moderate gaming -Ergonomically contoured Mini-DP plug makes for easy and safe insertion and removal Cons: -None :)

30' did NOT work with HTC Vive (PC to Breakout connector)
I purchased this to use my Vive in a room away from the PC. The Vive did not recognize the device attached while using this cable. I had also purchased a 15' "Cable Matters Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable (Mini DP to DP) in Black 15 Feet - Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 Port Compatible" that worked perfectly. 75$ for this cable was really expensive and I didn't notice a video or picture improvement while using this cable, that being said, I was not stressing the bandwidth/throughput (4K, etc) either. The overall quality seemed good, but for my use, I did not see an improvement over generic cables I have had for over 10 years. This review isn't about the cable quality aside from it did not work for my HTC Vive. I'm not sure if the length was too much, or the 4k speed it claimed (I hoped would make up for the length on HDMI to the Vive), but the 15' Display port worked perfectly on my Vive.

Good for Displaying at 120hz
The cable works. I am using this cable to connect my BenQ XL2720z monitor to my computer so that I can display at 144hz. The cable is good quality and fits in the ports nicely. The price is good and six feet is more than I needed. I was worried that this version of the cable would not push over 120hz but after some research I found that the version 1.1a cable meets the 1.2 requirements and is able to push over 120hz. So far I haven't had any problems with pushing 144hz. If I ever need another DP cable this is where I'd go. One thing to note though is that I think you will need a 1.2 version DP port to push over 120hz. I don't think version 1.1 or earlier ports have the bandwidth to do 120hz but I'm not a hundred percent on that. This cable will work fine regardless of what version port you have. Its just that if you don't have a version 1.2 port you may not be able to increase your refresh rate up to 120hz or higher but you could still display at 60hz.

Look for an ultrathin model first.
Good quality cable but it could stand to be thinner. I use it in a dual monitor setup in a vertical arrangement and the bottom monitor is a portable 4k display. It is a 4k signal and works as expected. The cable isn't bulky, but it's as thick as some of my power cables and that makes it harder to hide and route. I think a lot of people mistake thicker cables for quality but the reality is that the thickness doesn't matter as long as the signal comes through. I've got 4k 60 hdmi cables that are a 4th as thick and I wish I could use them exclusively. Other than that, it appears to be made out of quality materials and the signal is sent. Amazon wants me to mention picture quality, and screen quality, but those keywords are not applicable when talking about a digital cable. Either it works or it doesn't and the rest is up to your tv / monitor.

Cannot Be Used to Connect DisplayPort PC to iMAC with mini DisplayPort
After receiving some replies to my question on whether this cable can be used to connect a PC with DisplayPort to an iMac with mini DisplayPort (mid 2010 model which does this functionality) I went ahead and purchased this cable. It was with great dismay that I found out that the cable cannot be used for this function. Reading the iMac page in a bit more detail, it states that you can connect a device with a mini DisplayPort to a mini DisplayPort. While I thought that the signal type would be the same between DisplayPort and mini DisplayPort this apparently is not the case. In addition, there is a version of the GTX 680 specifically made for use with an iMAC ( model number 02G-P4-3682-KR which is sold by Amazon) which might explain why my non-iMac GTX 680 did not work. An important lesson learned is that you should be cautious when questions are answered by the Amazon community even if the people answering have bought the product (amazon sends a note to people who have purchased the product to see if they can reply to it). While the cable was only $10 and I'm not upset having bought it, for higher priced items I'll be more leery about the information given. That said, the cable itself seemed really nice. I have purchased other Cable Matters products in the past (which worked great) so I don't believe that the problem is with the cable itself.

Works Great With Surface Book + Surface Dock
I have only had this cable for a few days, so I cannot attest to its longevity, although I had no problems using it to connect my Surface Book (via the new Surface Dock) to an HP EliteDisplay E241i at 1920x1200. I have not tried using it for 4k output, as I am not yet on that bandwagon due to the lack of truly universal DPI scaling, even in Windows 10. I will say though that Win 10 does do a MUCH better job than previous versions when it comes to maintaining scaling on a per-display basis in multi-monitor situations where HiDPI and normal DPI displays coexist. Quick tip for Surface Book/Pro users using the docking station to connect to a monitor using 1:1 scaling: if some elements are still scaling up on the additional screen, simply log off/on, and this should correct the problem on the additional screen. Alternatively, hook up to the docking station before waking from sleep or signing on. I personally like to set the external as my main display, tweak the power settings so that the SB does nothing when the lid is closed, and then set it aside (lid closed), resulting in a traditional desktop-like setup. Throw in my Logitec MK270 keyboard/mouse combo (which also work flawlessly in this configuration) for around $20, and I can be every bit as productive sitting in my bedroom as I am at the office.

It Works!
I purchased this cable to extend my desktop to a 2nd monitor through my display port on my laptop. It works fine, no problems so far and I use the setup every day for several hours at a time. I'd say it's a good product that does what it says. I do not have any info on whether it works on thunderbolt connections as I don't have that type of port, but as a display cable it seems to work really well..

Consigliato!
