The under engine cover of my car came loose after ripping the bolts and destroying the bolt holes so couldn't just be bolted back in, and it was going to take 2 days until I could get the car fixed at the repair garage. I taped it up with regular duck tape and it just kept coming undone every time I'd drive the car more than 30mph. I bought some of this, and taped it up and it didn't budge one bit even on the motorway at 70mph. The technician who repaired the car said the tape was incredibly strong too and wanted some for himself. I've also used it to tape up an electricity meter box that keeps flapping open in the wind and it has held on for ages without any loss of adhesive even in wet weather. I'm very impressed by the tape, yes it costs more than double what some other gaffa tape might cost but it's worth it.

Finally something that keeps my dash cam on my windscreen!! I have tried countless others, some pricier than this, thinking more expensive meant better stick!! How wrong was I.Every other one stick and seems secure until the next day when I’d come out to dash cam dangling from roof!! This has stuck and stayed stuck. 2 weeks later we are still going strong. Long may it last, although there’s plenty to replace even if it does fail every month or so. Still better than daily!*Edit*Feel this is worthy of an edit as I’m astonished every morning. 2 months down the line and my dash cam is as secure as the day it was first stuck. Thought the cold weather may have sealed its fate. Even with the window frosting up on the inside, this is still going strong.I can only think the people having issues with this aren’t doing the proper prep.**Further Edit** struggling with the negative reviews as I specifically came back to update on the basis that 9 months after using this I had to gift my dash cam to Arnold Clarke with trade in, as I couldn’t remove this from my windscreen!! Really thought I was going to break the window before this gave up! Don’t understand how it is failing for people. Clean your window folks, won’t stick otherwise.

There are many, many options when it comes to cloth/duct tape. 3M is now prohibitively expensive and budget options just don't have the sticking power (especially in this economy).Being half the price the T-rex tape does still come with a decent sized roll. It is pretty thick with the glue layer being the primary bulk. It's quite easy to tear by hand, and a nightmare to cut with anything but a knife/fabric shears.Unlike the 3M counterpart, T-rex does not stick well to smooth surfaces. You can rule out most plastics, PVC or any other smooth plastic you can think of. It's not all bad news, however, as to anything else it holds very strong. I've had a shelf taped up for longer than I care to admit and I am yet to see any sign of budging.Overall, it's really not that bad. Incredible sticktion on rougher surfaces but useless on anything smooth.I think next time, I will just bite the bullet at go 3M, just because it's a more versatile solution. But honestly, I wouldn't count this tape out. Give it a go, it might just surprise you.

This is, as advertised, very sticky and very business-like indeed. Ie definitely not a tape for simple indoor jobs instead of, say, insulating tape or parcel tape … it's vastly more tenacious & serious than that. On that basis it gets a solid 10 out of 10 from me. However, I was using it on new roofing felt laid on the exterior balcony of my loft conversion, and that new roofing felt has a surface covered with masses of quite loose small stone chips, which easily fall off all over the place … point being that any exterior professional grade weatherproof tape is not going to be as effective as it could be on a loose non-flat surface like that … on a clean smooth surface, eg on lead flashing or on plastic etc., this tape sticks extremely strongly (much more tenaciously the the otherwise very sticky basic-type Gorilla tape, which I do use for small indoor jobs). So in summary - brilliant very sticky very strong semi-pro type weatherproof bonding tape … but of course not ideal on loose or crumbling surfaces.

Don't buy this product! It claims to hold 24lbs(10.9kg) if all 8 strips are used. In reality, after using all 8 strips it struggled to hold 1kg. The substrate it was stuck to conformed tk the claimed substrate, yet it failed dramatically. The claims made for the weight it can support are vastly overstated. I used it indoors and it didn't stick at all how it claimed, I wouldn't like to try and use it outside! It will not stick anything near to what it claims, do not buy! Look into a superior product, because this doesn't dk anything near to what it claims to do.
