Daughter wanted to wear a dress with pockets to HS Homecoming, and we saw this one in a nice color and affordable and thought we'd take a chance . . .1) Color- She ordered Navy Blue, which is actually pretty close to what was presented on the screen. It is not a classic "preppy" navy, but rather a cool navy blue that has some not-quite-jewel tones in the fabric shine. Overall, a modern Navy Blue that is not dreary or washed out with green undertones.2) Fabric- Was worried this would be a fake-satin or that too-thin taffeta polyester. Have no fears, this is a beautiful fabric with a nice sheen as a finish (not plastic-y or slippery) and there is a little heft to the weave so it stays at the bodice and hem without curling. It was thick enough to resist a steaming, so I needed to iron on a medium-high setting and it did not scorch or change the sheen.3) Construction- There is a built in bra (of sorts) with a separate bra-like clasp in the back. So the bra-insert is supported by flexible princess seamed boning, and the cups are not too padded. The entire bra is fitted between the dress and lining, so any alterations to the bra structure would required a bit of work. Sewn into the side seams, there is an elastic bra-band to give additional support to the bust.The seams are strong and well sewn (not surged), so get a seam ripper tool if you want to make alterations.The hem is even, and the lining is soft and easy to work with if you need to shorten the dress. Impressed with the neckline and waist; all true and well stitched.Was worried the pleats would be wonky or off-center. Again, was pleased that the dress panels were straight, true, and actually quite flattering with the placement of the rhinestones on the pockets.4) Fit- So daughter is short (5' 3"), and has wider shoulders and tiny waist so we always have to alter her dresses. This dress was pretty great! Ordered a size 4 (which she alternates between a 4 and a 6) and this dress is a true size 4. We still had to alter the bodice (took in a 1/4 along each back princess seam) so the bodice didn't buckle on the side. (short daughter, short torso) The bodice is relatively modest in cut, though bust is constructed for a C cup or more it appears.Measurements are true for the length. Daughter wanted it shorter, but when we pinned it up, she changed her mind and preferred the original length (an inch above the knee for her.)5) Overall- Overall the silhouette of this dress is unique and well designed (and well constructed.) All the things I worried about in a "cheap online dress" turned out so much better than expected. I would recommend highly; we've paid twice/three times as much in a boutique for similar quality and style, so be assured this is a winner.Cons-*Paid for rush delivery and it was still 4 days later than "guaranteed." Don't know if this was seller or delivery agent, or what.* Be prepared to CAREFULLY iron this dress too. It came with a couple of major creases from being packaged in a mylar shipping bag. Would have appreciated a box with some filler to keep it from creasing so deeply.* The boning goes around the front of the bust, creating "a fixed volume" bodice area that might be tricky to alter. Maybe order up a size if you are particularly busty or down a size if you are not (?)NOTE: will add pictures after homecoming

I really liked the quality of the dress and was pleased with it, however, if you are a little busty you will want to order up and then have the bottom taken in. The dress was too small up top but great everywhere else.
