Strong Cable Lock with Dubious Mounting System
This is a nice bike lock with good length, a nice combo lock, and is offered in several colors. It also comes with a mount. The 6 foot length is necessary to secure the bike as needed. The plastic-covered cable feels substantial yet flexible enough to secure the frame and front wheel to an anchor point. The security code on the combo lock is easy to change. The included mount assembly seems to work well, but if the tube diameter is too large, the mount may not be able to be used. The cable is easy to attach and remove from the mount assy. The mount has a rubber gasket to help hold the mount securely. The Mount... I bought two locks--one green, one black for two different bikes and was unable to attach either mount to the seat post as shown on the website. If the tube diameter that you want to use to attach the mount is too big, the holes to thread the screws to secure the mount may not align. I attached the mount to the handlebar on one bike and the frame on the other bike which was almost too large but I got it to work. I'm not sure if the description mentions the diameter the mount assembly can be attached to or not. This info should be added so that buyers understand that there is a limitation. As far as colors, the green is OK--just not my style (my wife was OK with it), but you can't go wrong with the black. I would recommend buying this lock even if the mount didn't work. The price was fair and the cable can always be wrapped around the seat post if the mount cannot be attached. If the mount can be used, it can be really nice. I was tempted to give 4 stars because of the mount but it worked on my bikes so 5 stars it is.

Etronic or Master Lock? 6ft 8mm cable lock comparison.
I purchased this Etronic Cable lock and a Master Lock Cable lock with the same specifications, (see below for how they are listed on Amazon). The pink master lock I ordered for my girlfriend, the black Etronic I ordered for myself. Master Lock 8161DPNK Breast Cancer Research Foundation Combination Cable Bike Lock, 6 Feet x 3/8 Inch, Pink VS Etronic ยฎ Security Lock M6 Self Coiling Resettable Combination Cable Lock, 6-Feet x 3/8-Inch Initially out-of-the-box: I like the Master Lock due to it's clear and large printed Dial lock system. The master lock also seemed very sturdy and definitely had thicker material in the lock itself (not that I know this makes any difference, any cable lock would be cut some body really wanted your bike) . I did not like the ETRONIC because the dial system was so small, made it hard to see where you were lining up the numbers and for some reason just didn't "feel" as sturdy as the master lock. Master Lock: PROS' , The lock its self is larger and just feels more secure, The coating on the cable is less abrasive/softer on the bikes frame. The number pad is large and clear/ easy to use and see especially when bent over unlocking the lock Master lock is a major brand and high-quality, was the same price as the "knock off" Version CONS: the combination pad is large, which makes it difficult to find somewhere to store it on the frame without interfering with peddling or your water bottle or other accessories and bags. Note: this is also listed in pros as it does make it easy to see the numbers when you're lining them up That's about the only con, however for me it was enough to use the Etronic ETRONIC PRO: The cable does stay nicely coiled, in the smaller number dial makes it easy to store without interfering with peddling or other accessories. It was a fair price, although you can buy a Master lock brand for the same price CON: The mounting clip for the frame is wider than the mounting clip for the master lock brand, making it difficult for me to find somewhere to install the clip style bracket, however I prefer to wrap my Cable lock around my frame under my seat. So for me it did not interfere but if you want to use the mounting clip it will need a bit extra room. (note I see this being less of a problem then the issue the master lock brand brings to the table with its clearance and space issues) To sum up: I think the master lock is of higher quality, easier to use the dial indicators, but due to the size of the lock itself it becomes cumbersome and difficult to find a place to store it out-of-the-way. The Etronic: brand is easier to store for riding use but hard to line up the smaller dial indicator. Also the mounting clip takes up a bit extra space due to how wide it is... Hope this helped someone, they both have up and downsides, either way your bike will be protected ;)

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!!!!
Used twice while working a music festival. I had changed to a personal combination when I got it and the third time I used it, either the combo had somehow changed while it was open on my bike or it just wouldn't open because it is a cheap piece of junk. Either way, when I got done working a 13 hour day, I went to go ride my bike back to my car which was several miles away and could not unlock my lock. I would have been upset even if this happened on a lock I had owned for years, but this one was literally less than a week old. I had to walk several miles to my car at midnight, drive to my house 20 minutes away and get bolt cutters so that I could drive back down and steal my own bike. Luckily when I was walking back to my bike at 1 am with the bolt cutters I passed a police officer that I was able to explain my situation to so as I would not go to jail simply because I bought your product. The good/bad news is the bolt cutters went through the bike cable like butter so I was able to get my bike rather easy once I was equipped with the standard equipment of the common bike thief. I get it, you get what you pay for. But, this product just shouldn't be sold.

good deterrent of a bike lock
Simply to use, not to heavy, good deterrent of a bike lock. Lets not kid outselves, this is clearly not the most secure bike lock out there, but if you are looking at locks like this, then that is also clearly not your main concern. I bought this mainly to serve as a deterrent to pesky opportunists, aka thieves. i live in a pretty small town, which is also quite safe, with a large biking community, so most people respect eachothers property. but kids will get tempted and adults as well. With a high tourist population during the summer riding months there are times when any time of lock will suffice as a deterrent. i chose this one because its a number lock, that the user can set and therefore remember. i didnt want to carry more keys than i need to, espectially for something i wont need to lock everyday, or have to remember to bring on the days when i do. but seeing that a bike is locked is ussually enough to send most opportunists away. yes, if someone brought bolt cutter this would probably melt away like butter, so if youre looking for more securely, i'd start to look into a u-lock. the curls on this let me carry the lock right on the bike. i generally let it wrap itself around the top tube and handle bars, which neither interferes with the streering, my knees, or any other part or usage of the bike. it came with an attachment for the lock, but it was too small for the tubes on my bike, which is a gravel grinder. i dont find my tubes to be a particularly odd shape, or especially large in size, so i would warn users there is a good chance it wont work for you either. but as i explained, you'll be able to figure out how to wrap it so it wont be in the way. its also fully rubber expect that actually combination lock so it wont damage the pretty shine of your bike. overall, cheap, easy, does the job im requesting of it

Best Features/Benefits: My favorite part about this lock is ...
Best Features/Benefits: My favorite part about this lock is the combo-setting feature. It is so simple and easy to remember. I also love the way the numbers on the lock spin and fall into place so distinctively. There is little question which number you are on, or whether or not you have the numbers lined up for the tumbler. Worst Features/Benefits: Maybe the coil is too tight on the chain when you take it out of the package? It is so petty because there really isn't anything to complain about with this lock. Quality of Make: Feels solid all around. The outer portion of the lock feels a bit plasticy (it is made of plastic), but the interior portion is definitely metal and alleviated my concerns once I felt the resistance on it. There is a nice rubber coating on the chain so it is easy on your hands while you chain up. Other Notes: Good length. I was able to wrap around the front tire once fully, as well as loop through the frame of the bike without any issues. Instructions: The instructions included in the package were clear and concise, and provided step-by-step setup of the lock. Very simple and easy to follow. Best Use Case: Best used for locking up your bikes, scooters, or other items that require a little bit of security. Differentiator from Competition: The numbers on the tumbler, the combination change process, and the smoothness of the lock/unlock process really set this apart from competition. Would I buy it again or recommend to a friend? Certainly, I like the way the lock and chain feel in my hand and around my bike. When we add another bike to the collection we will definitely come back for one of these.

cute, functional, dainty
this lock is daintier than the lock I used to have, with smaller combination keys, it's very cute and sleek. super easy to change the combination, you set it to 0000, then you turn the little black plastic knob, reset the code, then turn the knob back to the way it was. I'm not very good at doing those kinds of things by myself but it was very simple

Perfect balance between security and compact size
The overall quality of this cable lock is fantastic. The coating appears to be very durable and the diameter of the cable strikes the perfect balance between that nice, reassuring feeling when leaving my bike locked up somewhere, yet still having a nice, compact footprint when not in use. It is much less bulky than the Etonic M8 cable lock, yet feels much more secure than the M4. The ability to set your own combination is a huge benefit, and allows me to not need to memorize yet another random number. The mounting bracket is simple but works well on my Kona Dew, and securely holds the lock in place. Overall I highly recommend this lock if you need something 6' long and want a quality cable. I received this product at a discount in exchange for posting my honest, unbiased review.

Good !
It wont stop any real thief. I use it to lock my motorcycle cover when I park my bike outside, since covers are 100$+. The bright color tells people some security measures have been taken too. The combination works well and the whole thing is sturdy though it would die to any powertool

Good value cable with customizable combination lock
One of the best features for this lock is the ability to easily set your own 4-digit combination by simply turning the customize dial, picking your preferred combination, then turning the dial back. Another thoughtful feature is the holster that attaches to the bike frame, which allows holds the cable via a quick slip on/off motion. The cable is thick and has a smooth plasti-dip coating. It's long enough to string across two bikes if you're biking with a companion or across multiple parts of the frame/wheel on a single bike. The only negative I can see with this cable is the combination dials are a hard plastic, but plastic nonetheless so it may not last as long as ones with metal dials. However, at this price it's easy to forgive.

Does what you need
These are great quality - very strong, not something a pair of pliers could cut through. The lock mechanism seems impermeable to rain, and is not flimsy. The length is good for a bike, but we will be using to secure some Pavement stands to a bike rack! They come well packaged, and have many different uses. Not like the cheap ones you can get around town.
