Space Nazis!
For it's time, this TV miniseries was incredible. It doesn't hold up, but it really shouldn't. I still enjoyed it for the nostalgia.

A great series
This was the biggest miniseries on television in 1984. It looks fantastic on Blu Ray.I recommend buying both this one, The Final Battle, and the original V, which is the first part of the TV miniseries. It was my all time favorite TV program as a child.V is a retelling of how NAZIs came to power in Germany. It is like how Animal Farm retells the Communist uprise in the USSR.Earth is unexpectedly visited by a race of attractive aliens who promise peace and prosperity from their hard learned lessons. In exchange, they only require the use of our chemical facilities to manufacture a chemical that they can't manufacture on their own. When news journalist, Mike Donovan, infiltrates the LA mothership he discovers the shocking truth about the alien Visitors.Trivia fact: V does not stand for Visitor. V stands for Victory, which is how it was used in WWII.

V: THE FINAL BATTLE comes to Blu-ray...
Back in the mid 1980s, we had a TV series event called V. It was about an alien visit from an unknown world. They came in large space ships, circular shaped saucers, and promised nothing but good things. However, their sinister plans for Earth and its inhabitants became abundantly clear in time. They were here to rape the world of its natural resources, including humans that got in their way.Eventually, freedom fighters began striking back and joined together to form a rebellion against the lizard like invaders. This is where V: THE FINAL BATTLE makes its debut. This 3 part Blu-ray set comes in a 2 disc format, and for parts 1 and 2, there is a preview before watching the episodes.Part 3 has its own Blu-ray and has no preview. It's a straight shot right into the final episode. The show looks decent for Blu-ray, and if you play it back in the 4K player and 4K TV, it looks pretty good.It is better than the older DVDs that have been out for years. The effects still hold up for the most part, however, the part in which the gal has the alien babies is just over the top and doesn't look good at all. I never liked the alien hand puppet then or now. They should have left it at the first baby, which was more human looking to begin with, that's it. But, they had to make it look '50s sci-fi.It just looks bad and rubbery to me.The rebels come up with a bacteria that's called The Red Dust, which the aliens have no defense against, so it basically becomes a biological weapon.I did like the ending, showing Diana escaping the mother ship that was hovered over Los Angeles. The TV series takes over from here, but don't bother. It was pretty awful after the first or second episode in my opinion, and was canceled in the first season. There are really no extra features on this set other than an episode 1 and 2 preview. No interviews with cast or crew looking back on it.Find a good deal on this set if you really want it.

Good Sequel
Not superior to Original 1983 as idiotic producers had creator-writer-director leave the project over "differences" but veinly continues Kenneth Johnson's vision and all cast are back as favourite characters and connect once again engaging us viewers. Diana though flops going from an established cold-blooded scientist reptillian to a ding-dong insecure hysterical mess for the Visitors. Sarah Douglas shine's breifly as Pamela giving Diana order's and excercising her villanous acting chops as Supreme Commander and the intrigue is of the reptillian's for and against on the space ships. How ever the Rebelsplayed by Faye Grant, Marc Singer, Robert Singer and Blair Tefkin steal the show against great odds to help save humanity from the Visitors.
