Works Great And I No Longer Have To Duct Tape My Naval
I have an long standing umbilical hernia which got much worse this winter. I first taped it in with duct tape which worked well but, if you have ever seen the 40 year old virgin, isn't too much fun to pull off. After reviewing the various belts on amazon, I selected this one because of price and I thought the size might be right. My girth had grown to exactly 50" and this belt in the standard size fit with a bit of room to spare. The Velcro grips well and doesn't come loose. The width I would say was about right. I've wore it non-stop except for showering and it's comfortable enough that i don't notice it. Most importantly, it has kept everything inside my naval where it belongs. If I can reduce by belly with diet, I may consider surgery.

great material. But the material used in the circular ...
Works really well by keeping my hernia from popping out, great material. But the material used in the circular pad that goes inside the pocket, causes a lot of itch. Turns my stomach red.

This one doesn't roll up or down
Have small abdominal hernia. No matter if 4 or 6 inches high those 6meshy ones roll or the velcro is too wide and has to be carefully secured or it bites you or your clothes. The stays in this one do help stop the roll and the velcro doesn't go to the edge so there's no biting. The hernia is supported. Pleased with product. Tossing the meshy ones. I suppose you could say those other ones are breathable but except in summer when doing yard work I dont sweat much and figure I can dust it with corn starch then.

Useful Well Made Medical Device
I personally have a small ventral hernia umbilical type, which I believe was caused by lifting weights. In appearance a small bump just above my naval. My hernia is "retractable", meaning I can push in on the bump and it will "go away". Then when strain is put upon my abdomen my hernia returns. I have been formally diagnosed and told that I can wait to see if it gets worse, or have surgical correction with suture which may include adding a mesh. Over the last six months or so I adopted the wait and see approach, but my hernia does not seem to be getting better, or worse which I'm happy about. However, I will likely have surgery soon. In the meantime it gets tiring pushing in on my hernia throughout the day to retract it. In the past I have tried several different methods to reduce the frequency I need to retract the hernia, including duct tape on occasion. I ordered this product to see if it would be helpful, and so far it has worked well at reducing the need to physically retract my hernia. I have also found that this device has the additional benefit of aiding digestion. Anyway, for now I have found this device helpful for me in my particular circumstance. The device is made well, and made in the USA!Update after using this product I noticed that it is getting folds, but no real damage. I suggest if you get one of these that you opt for larger than the six inch which mine is. I also reduced my review from 5 to 4 stars as a result of this issue.Update 2 : I had surgical correction of my ventral hernia umbilical type. No complications, and left with very minimal scar near navel. It was very difficult and painful to stand up from sitting position, or get up after laying down. If you decide to have surgical correction suggest you get as physically fit as possible prior to surgery to accelerate recovery. I was very sore for a week, and I'm not overweight, and in good physical condition. Expect anesthesia and subsequent pain medication to cause constipation.

It would be nice if there were some instructions with the unit
The Umbilical truss works well. 6" is the correct size. It gives me the support I am looking for prior to my operation to correct the Hernia. It would be nice if there were some instructions with the unit, such as, where to put the rubber pad and how tight the elastic should be to use it correctly. I would recommend this product.

Works - washable
Good American quality product. Works better, more comfortable and more durable than others I've tried. Washable on gentle machine setting, best if put in a wash bag for protection.

Does alright... doesn't stay in place
This is a so so product. It does what it needs to but it is really annoying because it is constantly moving out of place. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have an umbilical hernia, it does help with the pain but as I move around or sit down or get up it is constantly moving out of place. No matter if it's tighter or more loose- It's really annoying.
