I'm actually totally thrilled with the quality of the product. The only reason I gave the chair stand 4 stars is because 1 out of the 7 washers they packed was the wrong size, which made it necessary to make a trip to the hardware store. Normally I'll have something hanging around in my tool crib, but what I had was either too small or way too big. Overall, the stand is a solid, well constructed piece. The instructions were easy to follow. The pre-drilled holes all lined up so the bolts pretty much dropped right in. This stand is HEAVY and putting the bar into the back of the arc piece was kinda like wrestling a greased pig. If you're a shorty like me you may want to have some muscle handy. I was able to get at it, but only after I wrestled with it for awhile. In all it probably took me 45 minutes to put together and was completed in time for a glass of wine and a swing in my chair at sunset.

Used for a sky chair

I researched products for many hours before ordering this, as it is a massive piece of outdoor furniture. I did not want to be stuck with a dud. The packaging of this very heavy arc stand arrived in very shoddy condition with pieces of the stand exposed. I was concerned that there might be pieces missing or unattractive scratches on the piping, so I returned it and asked for a replacement. I stated to the seller that if the packaging was in the same condition upon arrival of the replacement, I would send it back also. Fortunately, the replacement arrived in slightly more secure packaging...secure enough that I took the risk of opening the package and putting it together. We have really enjoyed this fun piece with our Costa Rican hammock chair. This Arc Stand is very tall (some are not--- consequently you'll scrape the ground) and extremely strong. It supports the heavier adults in our family without riding too low. Check your own measurements of you chair before ordering.

Great and sturdy design but still there is room for improvement. It should have more curved pole with hook . So it will give more room for spin and person bottom will not hit back pole. I put two concrete block underneath2 back pole so it will have more curve as well as it will not tipped over. As long as top part curve is less than bottom part , it will not tipped over. There is no any other stand in market with sturdy design and almost 360 degree rotation ability.

So ordered a "used" item from Amazon. "all parts included, box damaged" ah, that would be no. Missing most bolts. Could wait for 5 days for them to be shipped, or just go and buy. So, after getting a parts list, which was not accurate, went to the bix box hardware store for parts. $20 later, I was all set. Should have bought a new one...this is one of the few stands that will hold this large hammock chair, and I did not want to trust my porch ceiling.Aside from being huge, needing at least an 8 foot ceiling, it is stable and does its job. And that is too hold up a large caribbean hammock. (which is made in China, of course) 1 star for Amazon, 5 star for stand. Moral : buy a new one and enjoy.

This stand is awesome and you definitely get what you pay for. I did a lot of research before deciding on this stand and found that most hanging chair stands are not sturdy, they will tip over, they hang too low, etc. etc. etc. I was very hesitant to purchase this stand due to the price, but I'm so glad I did! This stand allows you to hang your chair at various heights, the lowest of which is higher than most of the other advertised stands! This stand is incredibly sturdy and does not wobble at all. Most other stands tell you not to actually swing or rock due to the stand being unsturdy, but you rock all you want in this stand. Did I mention how beautiful it is? No? Well, its incredibly beautiful! Highly recommend!!!

Well-made, stable, sturdy stand, as indicated by other reviews. We've had it for several months on our apartment balcony, and it's so peaceful to sit and (gently) swing. In addition to this stand, we purchased the Hammocks Rada handmade cotton hammock chair (very comfortable), and two inexpensive S-hooks from a local hardware store for secure hanging (they are doubled-up for extra security, as in photo). No need for a special spring or swivel. If purchasing this for a small space, like a balcony, it's important to know that the footprint is fairly big--a 58" X 66" rectangle (it sits at an angle to the sides of this rectangle) with 88" of floor-to-ceiling clearance.

Pros: Sturdy, easy to assemble, easy to move with two people. Works well without extension (but with swivel hook I purchased separately) with the Sorbus Hanging Rope Chair. (We range from about 5'6"- 5'8" tall.) Bronze color is as pictured. Cons: After a month, plastic cap on the top fell off with normal, light use. Bar definitely bumps you in the back--there is really no way to avoid this-- disappointing that the design isn't better. Wish the manufacturer gave a detailed description of the size swing to buy-- I had to buy two and return one. (Hammock Sky Large Brazilian Chair was too long without extension bar on stand).
