Great family fun!
I was first introduced to Poppin Cookin through several YouTube Channels. My thought would be that it would be a fun family culinary adventure. This set gave us the option of trying several different "recipes" for a great price. You can find bigger sets on other websites that may offer you a lower price per box, but this was within our price range and had enough for us each to try making 2-3 and not have a stash left over if we didn't like them. You probably already know that all of the directions are not in English. You can find the directions online in English at places like whiterabbitexpress.com. We had fun without them and made it into a kind of competition. everything is color coded and after a few minutes it starts to make sense what you are doing. For added fun you can try to get a translator app on your phone like we did for a few of them. We didn't find the apps we tried to be overly helpful, so again just use that for added fun. Most of the sets are candy flavored, not actually flavored like the food that they represent. The exception to that was the hamburger. That one ended up being a favorite of ours though. It tasted just like a hamburger from a certain fast food chain. The other favorite was the one with the little cake shaped like a fish. The fish is a little vanilla cake and the filling is a chocolate icing, which was simply amazing. The cake itself was a little hard to make. You will need a microwave for a few of the sets and we found we had to do 5 second increments to get the timing right. Once it is "cooked" getting it out of the pan gave us a quite a bit of trouble, but the finished product was still good and looked cute. The only one that we were all unsure about was the donut one. It looks adorable, it is easy to make, and the flavor wasn't terrible. We found that the finished product was a little on the gelatinous side though. would still recommend it though as I know that wouldn't bother everyone.

Its Kracie popin cookin.its Kracie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love these kits, they are soo fun, i will be ordering more of these!I know that these particular orders do take a bit to come in, because they come from JAPAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep in mind it goes through customs to get here. First off, these are fun to make as an adult. Not all of them are sweet candy flavors, and some are savory, (pizza, and the hamburger kits for example). So with that in mind,it's a great gift for a child, or your fellow chefs, since a few kits have elements of molecular gastronomy! The instructions are pretty easy if you just follow the pictures, since the packets are color coded, and everything you need is right there, if not YouTube and Google will be able to provide several links to English translation . We have made the sushi kit, doughnuts, pizza, and the candy land so far. All of them were pretty tasty, and not to worry the sushi kit is a sweet candy one ,and not savory. The pizza required a microwave ,we found that going 10 seconds less than what is suggested keeps it from burning . They're not as messy as an easy bake, and can be made to look like the packaging, or something out of your imagination. On an even more positive note, ordering these kits from JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN, we received a picture and business card from Kazuki. We contacted the seller and let them know about the fun we have had with the kits thus far, and that we enjoyed his picture of hime and the office ,which had full size Star Wars figures, and Samurai Armor. Kazuki was genuine in his response, and happy that we have enjoyed the kits and his picture . I would recommend these for the entire family, and for the customer service.JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN

Fun treats, GREAT activity, just be sure to get Google Translator up on your phone.
My kids are ridiculously enamored with these Japanese Candy kits right now. If you've never seen these, check out Youtube for some examples of putting them together, it's incredibly entertaining. I bought this set through amazon, and when it arrived it had a Japanese company's return address (Yay for authenticity?). It took about 3-4 weeks to arrive. They did actually arrived more than a week before the shipping estimate deadline, but it was still a lengthy transit time, which I assume is because, hello, it's shipping from Japan. My advice is order with time to spare so as not to be disappointed. Each Kracie brand kit comes with a few pouches of ingredients, molds (depending on the kit) and tiny spoons (again, depending on the kit) for stirring. The activity is a LOT of the charm of these kits, it's really engaging and entertaining to create each item. The candies themselves are okay, but some of the textures are, I assume, acquired tastes. The instructions on the back of the box, if you can't find a tutorial for the specific candy you've got, can be translated with a smartphone and the google translate function. There's not real time (as of this writing) translation available for Japanese to English, but you can snap a pic, submit it, and get text translation back to figure out the instructions. This set has mostly boxed sets, including the candy fast food set and the candy sushi set. They are so much fun to make, and the candies are pretty good too, very lightly sweet (to my american tongue) with interesting textures. Gormet chocolate, it is not. But decent, anyway. Considering the fun you'll have making these (especially with your kids) the payoff is still more than worth it.
