What do you call a sad cup of coffee? A depresso.
Never had a coffee machine before so though for the price this looked like a good choice. Had lots of the features I wanted so went for the buy.It arrived quickly and everything was in the box.My only big annoyance with it is the manual/booklet. It's really not very clear, doesn't give much guidance so we ended up making a few rubbish cups of coffee before getting the settings etc nailed. As for this being a 12 cup coffee machine, I have no idea what size cups they are using but that's unlikely. I use a normal cup, I'd assume the same kind of cup as everyone else and I have to fill the coffee machine up to the 3 cup water level to make 1 cup. I have to fill to the 7 cup lever to make 2 cups (Sure, there's a little left over but not much!).As for the grind, for my taste if I'm doing 1 cup of coffee I do 3 water and tell the machine I'm making 3 cups so I use 3 cups worth of coffee beans for one. Maybe I just like my coffee really strong, who knows. You can change how fine or course the coffee grind is, I have mine set to two notches off the most course grind. Also on that, it's not intelligent enough with the water, so if you want 1 cup of coffee but you put 12 cups worth of water in it will use all 12 cups worth of water, it would just use one cups worth so you have to make sure you put enough water in for your needs. You can fill the top with beans though and it will just use what it needs.Cleaning seems to be really easy so far just taking a few minutes after each use.Once you work out how you like your coffee this is a really great machine, been using it for a few days now and I'm loving it. I just have to keep a little note by the machine to remind me how I like it haha.Overall, is it the easiest machine? With it being my first I don't know but guessing not but once you work it all out does it make a nice brew? Oh hell yeah!

Useless Instructions
The instructions are useless - they seem to be all over the place, in some random order that is meaningless and, as a result, I don't think we have yet had one decent cup of coffee from this machine. We need a simple single sheet set of steps for using this machine and hopefully getting a decent cup of coffee from it! It's infuriating and to be honest, it's much easier to just make ourselves instant coffee in a cup from a kettle as we used to do. For instance:a) what is item 2, the protective cap supposed to be protecting??b) item 4 is described as a coarseness adjustment dial but what are you supposed to do with it? what is it even for? there is a picture showing a rotating movement on it but it does not rotate at all - it is fixedc) there's nothing describing what the M/H button is??d) once the machine is set up with water, filter and coffee beans, as an English speaker, which page am I then supposed to read to just operate it - the one headed Control Panel or the one headed Operation?? (I can't even refer to page numbers because there aren't any!)e) using the steps on the Control Panel page, I can select the number of cups I want - I can also select strength on the button below and I can also select grind because we have beans in the top - the next button says Press and hold to start a selected function?? what the heck does that mean? we'd already selected the previous functions i.e no of cups, strength and grind but when we then press and hold the start button, all we get is a flashing cup symbol on the right hand side of the screen and NOTHING HAPPENS - it's useless and infuriating!!

Does not grind enough coffee.
I've had this for a couple of weeks now. The big problem is that the grinder only grinds a few beans each time, even with everything set to maximum.I have to go through 4 or 5 grinds to get enough for a full carafe of coffee, resetting the cycle each time. Cleaning out the grinder is messy & has not helped much.I've now changed to a different brand of beans, which are slightly smaller, & the grinder is working much better. Now only 2 grinds for a full carafe - so an extra star.

Trial & Error
This is a really good 'Bean to Cup' coffee machine and yes the instructions are pants. However with a little trial and error I've found it pretty cracking. I haven't figured out the timing feature yet so will update when I do but as for keeping the warming plate on I have discovered that you can extend the time from it's factory set, 30 minutes. You do this by switching on, set the warmer on and keep your finger on the button for maybe 20 seconds and the 30 minutes pops up and then you press the H/M button to increase the time. I hope this is useful. Also this review below from Lisa if you could get the details of using the timer function from your friend and post it, that would help me out enormously.Lisa5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent timer featureReviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 February 2020Verified PurchaseEarly Reviewer Rewards(What's this?)Bought for a friend and he absolutely loves this especially the timer feature, he now wakes up to freshly brewed coffee straight from the bean.
