Pentel Sharp Kerry Mechanical Pencil - 0.5 mm - Olive Green Body (P1035-KD)

I have now purchased 3 of these Pentel Automatic Sharp™ Mechanical Pencils (0.5 mm) to keep in my purse, backpack and larger drawing kit. I like to do urban sketching and find these to be comfortable to grip, as well as convenient. It means I always have a sharp pencil without having to stop and sharpen like I would with a wooden pencil. Refills are inexpensive and easy to put into the mechanical pencil. They come in several attractive colors, although I only have blue and red at this point. I don't go anywhere without one of these Pentel mechanical pencils with me.

Best mechanical pencil. I have had this pencil for over 5 years. Still functions great. It is very comfortable for small hands, it is nicely balanced. I am very particular about my pencils...and I prefer pencil to a pen. I love to sketch, and this is great for that purpose. It is very lightweight, but yet heavy enough to feel good.

It writes. While it may not come with a built in eraser, its design make it one of the better mechanical pencils out there. Designed akin to a pen, the cap helps protect the writing tip from sudden impact and lead breakage. It's worth considering if you need a quality mechanical pencil.

good so far! got this to replace my lower quality mechanical pencils. i got the olive and it’s pretty cute. i wish they had light purple or a nicer pink color though. it’s pretty small which is perfect with my smaller hands, but if u have larger hands it might be too small. writes well and feels pretty good quality. i wish it came with an eraser or lead replacements though. maybe a bit overpriced for what it is

Yes, it has its flaws (the mismatched blues on the body and the cap made my eye twitch at first, but I got used to it. That their is a cap at all is super handy for a clumsy artist like me, and the advance button on the cap that works when you snap the cap on the body backwards while using is amazing! Love the weight and the balance as well! If the graphite rotated, it would be better (and if the blues matched!), but I love this pencil any way. I have three now!

From the moment I opened the shipping package, I suspected that things wouldn't end well. Inside was a clear little zip lock bag with the pencil in it. No sealed packaging that you would come to expect from a company like Pentel. At the end of the pencil, a cap was where there should have been a point that would hold the lead. Upon removing the cap, the once peace of lead just fell out. There was nothing that would remotely hold anything in place for writing. There was no eraser in the top cap. It is a shame because if this was a proper pencil it would have been a nice writing instrument. Do yourself a favor and listen to all the reviews detailing the same issue. I was able to return it the same day and got a refund.

My favorite! Great feel. Holds the lead perfectly. Made so the lead doesn’t break easily. Love the colors too!
