Le Creuset Silicone Mill Caps, 2 1/2", Marseille

These caps work great they keep the salt and pepper from spilling out onto the table. Very happy with his purchase.

Purchased these to put an end to the mess the mills leave after each use. Fit snugly and easy to use. High quality plastic and well designed. Fit my needs perfectly and looks attractive as well.

I suspect many owners of Le Creuset pepper and salt mills have chafed at the idea of spending more money buying these silly rubber caps, which really should have been included as part of the mills. I resisted buying them for a few years, out of sheer consumer indignation, and also because they did not came in colors that matched my out-of-print mill colors (this was a particular source of irritation). Lacking the caps, I set the mills on little ceramic saucers to catch the pepper dust. It's much better, however, to have a perfectly-fitted silicon cap. I am very pleased with what arrived in the mail, as the caps were thicker and sturdier than I expected, and fitted the 8" mills perfectly - they don't fall off, but peel off easily when you are ready to use the mill. They're easy to wash. If you are irritated that they don't come in the "right" colors, try finding the closest match, or even a contrast color, to brighten up your set. It doesn't look bad. Of all the colors, I think black and white caps would be very dull, unless you are matching a black and white mill set. I got Marseille blue and it's a nice rich blue tone. Good luck. By the way, the salt mills have ceramic grinders, and have worked perfectly for me for grinding pepper.

These work really well for stopping the mess on the table and in the cupboard but you have to keep remembering to take them off before you grind!

Nice and exact fit

Anyone who owns the Le Creuset salt and pepper grinders, knows that they leak/drop excess salt and pepper, after you stop using them and place them down. The salt grinders seems to be much worse than the pepper, but either usually leaves a residue of salt or pepper over the counter or tray that the grinders live on. These stoppers do exactly what you want, and contain the mess. I'd give them five stars, except I had to use a different color to my grinders. Soleil has been discontinued as a color, and these are a new product, so I had to match to the new Oyster color that I've brought into my collection. I wish Le Creuset would cycle back with retired colors.

Fits perfectly!

I use these Le Creuset caps under my Cole & Mason salt and pepper mills. They are not designed for C&M, but do a great job of catching any salt or pepper that would otherwise end up on the counter/table. Easily cleaned with warm soapy water.

Thick quality rubber material. Fit 8 inch grinders perfectly. Match with Caribbean blue le creuset grinders. Great price. Protects the bottom very well.

I'd be lost without these. They fit perfectly onto the end of the mill. They save so much mess from salt or pepper spilling out over time. Very easy to clean too.
