85% Lactic Acid Antiaging Peel

My whole adult life had me embarrassed and self-conscious for anyone (even my husband) to see me without facial make-up. There was so much damage done to my freckled, light skin face in the baby oil or no wearing sunscreen 80's decade of my teenage years. I used expensive, brand name skincare for years trying to combat my teenage decisions. My one and only experience with a peel was at my (very pricey) dermatologist's office about 10 years ago. I felt and saw no visible results. Shortly after, Skin Obsession was recommended to me by my sister-in-law who is a licensed cosmetologist. She suggested I start with Jessner Peel from this line, so I did. I immediately (and for the next 5 days) regretted my decision. I thought my face was distorted, burned and scarred for life, and I peeled. And peeled. And peeled. And cried.AND THEN.... about 2 weeks later, I noticed all the red/brown hyperpigmentation I'd been living with was so much better, I looked refreshed and glowly. I was hooked. I've used Jessner, Glycolic, Lactic Acid and many other peels from Skin Obsession, with visible results from every one over the years. Sometimes I'd peel, most time not. I always noticed the results, though. I started getting compliments on my skin.I promoted my face to TCA 20% about four months ago, doing one peel a month. Prior use of all the other peels, then starting a TCA 20% consistent regimen has really really really been a game changer. So much peeling that continually reveals less visible aging lines and almost wiped ALL hyperpigmentation from my face. I have referred this peel line to countless people who ALL have loved it.Very long winded review, I know. Basically, this is the only peel to use with AMAZING results and the BEST VALUE for money.

I ordered this after using the 30% glycolic acid peel several times. I never experienced burns or skin irritation with the glycolic, only slight flaking of the skin, so I wanted a stronger peel. The first time I used this, I was sure to only use along my jaw line, where I have the most noticeable age spots. Again, I only experienced slight flaking of the skin, but I was seeing gradual results. This is major! I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of those spots: many different lightening creams, and IPL treatments in a clinic. While the IPL treatments worked, there was a downtime of several days in which I didn't want to leave my house because of the appearance of my skin, and the results didn't last. I didn't want to have to deal with being a hermit again repeatedly, so I wanted to find something else to use. The second time I used the 85% lactic acid peel, I wasn't paying as much attention and slathered it on most of my face (except my forehead), including my cheeks and cheekbones. Then I left it on for 5 minutes. Yikes! When I neutralized it with baking soda and water, I could feel the change in my skin on my cheeks. It seemed puckered and raw! I was terrified I had blistered my skin! I slathered coconut oil all over my face and prayed! Within 2 days, a largish patch (about the size of a half-dollar) was scabbing on my left cheek. I was able to cover this with makeup, but not very well. I tried not to pick at the scabs because I didn't want to make matters worse, but on the 3rd or 4th day I couldn't take it anymore! I finally peeled off the scab, which came off in small pieces. Thankfully, there was no damage. BUT, I have noticed a dramatic change in my age spots! I had almost resigned myself to having to live with caking on concealer and makeup for the rest of my life to cover these dastardly little marks! I will continue to use this, but with MUCH greater caution! I have realized that this product will do what I have been searching for, just in small steps, and gently! If you get this, make sure you test a non conspicuous spot on your face first...then be conservative in future uses. It will work, but slow and steady is the best way to do this!

First time at-home-peeler here. I did a lot of research, and it is pretty scary playing with these chemicals that can burn or hurt your skin if not used precisely and properly. But all great things come with that risk-reward investment. I am 28, female, been tanning since I was 16. I am now starting to become more conscientious about my skin. I decided to go with the lactic acid peel as my first peel since it has virtually no downtime. I'm not ready to make the commitment to the massive peeling that comes with more intense peels.Lactic acid is not a peel that will improve wrinkles or fine lines per say, but more of an overall skin texture improvements. It is supposed to "prep" your skin for better absorption of your other beauty products. After using the first time my skin felt amazing! Like a baby's bottom. I had redness, I figured I would, so I did the peel at bedtime to sleep off the redness. I would like to point out that a lot of people downplay this peel because they say its mild but I was a little surprised at how much it stung for being "mild". Nothing we can't handle for beauty's sake! My skin continued to feel smoother and softer for more than just that first day.I have since used this peel twice, I thought a few times would be good before I gave a review. I have noticed smaller pores, my blackheads aren't as deep or even as noticeable. My skin feels smoother and softer which probably makes my other serums and creams apply easier. My makeup sets on my face better. I think I've had less oil as well. I used to use a mattifying primer and oil blotting sheets throughout the day, and I am not blotting as often now.I will continue to use this peel every 2 weeks as I am seeing improvements consistently. I would like to point out that I was initially worried about buying a peel because I didn't want to receive a bottle of something with no directions on how to use it properly. Skin Obsession had VERY clear and easy instructions included. VERY helpful. They even included a business card if I needed to contact them with concerns. I will definitely buy from them again!
