Nice analog VTX
Great VTX for the price. But be careful - this thing gets hot, but the heat sink seems to do it's job. I have forgotten to turn down the wattage on the bench and although it got super hot, it still was pushing the signal out. Just don't grab it in the wrong place. You will get burned. Only drawbacks for me are: 1. the antenna plug and the cable to the flight controller are on the same side. this means in a quadcopter, you will have to decide weather you want to route the antenna back over/under the vtx or turn it around and route the signal cable over/under vtx assuming you want the antenna in the back of the quad like most models. Both scenarios are not ideal and can cause some minor level of interference. 2. There is no pit mode like other similar VTXs. On this one, since it gets so hot, it would be very, very useful. I wrote to AKK and asked them if it was capable of pit mode and they just replied, "OK" which made no sense but it's a funny story, so maybe worth it. I don't think they speak good English, but at least they replied to my email. Like I said before, though, it's a great vtx for the price. I liked it enough to buy a second one for another quad. Also, thank you, AKK for not having a nonsense, weirdo brand name like "DreamGoo" or "EveryEndingRC". We see you and appreciate you.

SmartAudio Power Levels
Seems alright. Maybe a bit more flickery than what I replaced. The instructions specify it as being 1.6 W, not 1 W, I can't actually measure what it is. Range is improved, though due to the logarithmic nature of RF power, don't expect magical distances. Also, in order to get SmartAudio working, you need to set power level values as '0' '1' '2' and '3', not the mW value. Manual doesn't tell you this, but now it works! Not bad for 30 bucks.

Great VTX at bargain price
Works as expected. Tested with Caddx Infra 2 cam, no complaints. Extra TX power feels great. Gets hot when on max power, make sure to give it room for some air. LEDs are not marked, kinda confusing. English manual is unreadable, as usual.

Not Powerful Audio Experience
Not my favorite VTX, yet is a functioning VTX for backups. Would need 30x30 holes to mount the VTX. VTX has soldering pads to connect to FC via wires instead of wires and connectors. I love this feature. Here is the rub, the audio quality is not that well. There is less volume when watching the recorded videos in contrast to other models, like HGLRC and Rush FPV. This one has the lowest volume, more noise than the actual motors. I fly analog just for the fact the VTX will broadcast video and audio. It would had been very wonderful if there were extra pads to solder a microphone on them. * ** *** Update: I had to drop the Rating by two stars. Reason: The VTX itself is unable with processing or transmitting Audio Signal; it is not the internal Microphone (Mic) that is malfunctioning, it is the board itself. Smart Audio will allow adding a microphone alongside the RX wire. That is, you can have both the RX from the VTX for OSD, and an Microphone audio line connected on the same pad. Microphone needs to be powered by 5V and connecting the Ground wire. "In case Audio is working but not Smartaudio we recommend adding a AC coupling 100nF ceramic capacitor (no polarization)" This is from TBS websites. I had sealed the internal Microphone and the opening that leads to it with "MG Chemicals - 862-250ML Peelable Solder Mask" IT SEEMED ALL COMPLETE at the beginning! This VTX has both JST connection and a soldering pad! How perfect is this! Connected a RUSHFPV microphone to the SA pad on AKK VTX, and having the VTX supplying power to the Microphone via the pads. Went to test the external and dedicated microphone module I just soldered in AKK VTX, and the audio had the same issue with the internal microphone on AKK board: The audio begins nice, then feels saturated, and just digital annoying noise, no matter how close you are flying for the VTX Receiver to receive the signal. I will try to attach to this review an audio sample that will display the issue. Why AKK is selling an malfunctioning VTX Board? The board promises to deliver audio, yet AKK Board cannot process audio signal to transmit.

It's been good
Now I can't say if it has an issue with 9v or if the BEC on my flight controller does not have the amps to power it, but it works pretty well with 12v straight off the battery of my plane. Have yet to try the microphone out, my VRX is not capable of that (yet), but it does have a microphone and smartaudio if your flight controller is that cool. The photo is with a 2dbi antenna at about 500m away from me. I do not have any means of measuring the power output but for the price, it is definitely better than any 600mw vtx with the same antennas and patch cables

Sma connector broken.
The sma connector came broken off the board. Clearly the design of the vtx itself is suspect and/or the quality of the assembly process because a right angle sma connector should not break off that easily. My review is not related to- Sellers Delivery Packaging Pricing Availability I don't know who is rejecting my review at Amazon or the seller.

Amazing range
I build all my quads. This vtx is in my 7" source one deadcat frame. On it's highest power level I can get out a mile (could go farther) before signal goes static. It does get very hot even with the heat sink. So do NOT leave sitting while powered up. All in all I hold this to the same level as the Solo

1600mw! This will blow any vtx out of the water for range.
This thing goes up to 1600mw! I’m pretty sure it’s the most powerful 5.8 vtx on the market currently. It’s great and really robust. Anyone saying they are bad is user error guaranteed. Sure I’ve roasted a couple of these but was 100% due to user error. Otherwise they last forever and get huge range!

Best VTX I've used.
Excellent range. Does get super hot though. But to be expected.

Good!
Used this for my rc car and the range is ok depending on your antenna. If you want long range then you would have to upgrade to a 5dbi or more type antenna. Video quality is ok, good enough to see where you are going.
