Not sure why this thing has any bad reviews from my experience. I've never touched a wood lathe in my life. I took a 1x2 piece of scrap. It is pine and soft. Use the table saw set up on this item to rip it in half. And then made what was in the pictures my first try. I do agree the blades are not great and I will be ordering different blades but the machine itself is user-friendly. If you watched YouTube videos like I did I was super impressed. I could do this on my first try. For the price. It's a great machine.

If you've got a little bit of know how this will be a great little tool. My only issue was the length of the bed. I bought a second and made a bonus tool for finishing work, good buy for the value and you'll definitely want to secure it to a board for stability, lathes can be sketchy if they spin off balance

Literally used it one time, made one pass and it never worked again. This was after i returned the first one I bought because it wouldn't turn on.Don't spend anymore time looking here.Move on to a better machine.

The lathe is perfect for my mini wood working items. The instructions that came with it were vague but having used a full size lathe before I was able to work it out.

This could be a nice tool to use with better knives. The tool rest doesn't allow the tools to reach the material if you have small material, which is what I am using it for. I am attempting to make an axle extension with 3/16's material. The tool doesn't reach using the provided tool rest. I've modified it by extending the slot and It didn't help much. I could extend it more to get the knives closer to the material. I've done lathe turning before and I used to make lace bobbins for friends. I wouldn't dream of attempting to make them with the knives provided. This is a basic idea but it needs help before it works effectively.It is not a bad tool, it runs fairly quietly. It seems to have enough power to cut material if the tools are sharp enough.

Got this for my son. He started making pens in woodshop in school and wanted to be able to make them at home. Now he makes rings and pens. And has come up with ideas for other stuff. The wood cutting tools are cheap and we had to get him better ones. But he loves it. I'll have to get him a bigger one latter.

I plugged this item in and thought it was slow, didn’t realize the 7 level switch on the adapter/power box. WoW! It’s a keeper!

Doesn't turn on. Lathe is totally worthless ad comes with assorted garbage accessories. I'm a day late trying to return it.

Purchased for husband to turn smaller items. Seems well equipped and easy to use, he is pleased with it.

5 stars based on value for money.Nice motor assembly and chuck mounted on base plate. My main use has been for polishing small metal parts.I’ve not used any of the accessories, and probably won’t.In summary, if you understand what you are buying this is a good little product.

This is part of my Christmas from the wife. I think this is great, I have used it for a few hours just getting used to the tools that come with it. The tools that come with it can do what they are meant to if you use them the wright way.
