Looks nice, works great...
Conceptually a hub is a fairly simple item....right? Then how is it tha I've owned so many of them over the years that didn't work? I use this one with an M1 MacMini (silver color) and find the color match is ideal. I also have a couple disk drives that match the "stack" -- so I have four "mini" stacked up and it makes a great form factor and tons and tons of capacity. Incidentally, one of my disk drives is used daily and the other, though constantly connected, is only a backup drive using backup software programmed to back it all up about once per week. I always by 256Gb (startup drive) Macs and then store my data on external drives or in the cloud. But any external drive is backed up frequently. As to the dock, I think one reason that it works is because USB-C has more channels/I/O capacity that older USB-A computers. All of my permanent drives are plugged in the back of the MacMini and the front receptacles on this hub are for one off reads or writes. I like this one particularly because it has a "well" into which. the MacMini sinks and fits perfectly....so they never come out of alignment. Also, this one also has a USB-C front port....whereas most competitors are USB-A only. This was also one of those rare items that came in one day without extra charge...which means it must be warehoused locally. It is an "Amazon Favorite" (which means they've had less complaints and returns about it than others in this category). It is truly plug and play...no software required...however, after plugging it in, reboot the Mac for the dock to be fully recognized. So far....highly recommend... (But I buy a lot of Amazon stuff and have learned that "Amazon Favorites" rarely disappoint.)

Works Great but.....
I've had this product for 2 years now and I love it. My only issue is that the headphone jack port has never worked. A minor issue as my work flow and use case allows me to use bluetooth. Otherwise its a great product.

An amazing, must-have accessory!
I have a setup where all my power and monitor cables come in the from the back, but the cables for the peripherals, readers, and transitive cables are laid out in the front. Having to reach back to find the right port made this such a chore. That is, until I discovered this. Besides having an option for more storage, having the ports on the front has made life so much easier. Additionally, it's got a good heft to it and really makes the mini feel more substantial. Looks great, too. The color match for the space gray option is on point. Really happy with the purchase

Totally disappointed . . . Not recommended!
I was excited to get an M1 Mini, so upon reading a couple of excellent reviews of the Satechi hub, I purchased it before understanding it's limited functionality. While it looks very nice, fits the Mini perfectly, and has some great features, it is lacking in basic functionality compared to other products on the market.Upon first reading the instructions, I was immediately disappointed that the Satechi version of this now rather common design does not even have enough power to charge my devices. It is a data transfer hub only, and I don't transfer much data. So, it's useless. (I did not see that information anywhere in their product presentation. Seems I was supposed to know that from the name?) I should have looked more carefully because I need that feature if I am going to commit one of the very limited number of ports available to this hub. When I sent the company an email verifying this, they tried to sell me another two $75 chargers. Seriously? $150 when I hate this one? No way.I can't find anything unique about it. While it has adequate transfer functionality, so does every other product of this type available. The kick in the tooth for most people is the fact that there is no disk storage capability/expandability. I realize the benefit of a hub depends on individual need. I should have looked more carefully. But, I'm not sure why anyone would buy this when several other manufacturer's already offer an updated much better version. This is a flop, already stuck into a cabinet with the other has beens. Problem is: I didn't even use it once. Oh, well. Lesson learned. Now to find a better one.

MacMini Dock USB C Hub
Satechi MacMini USB C Hub - Type-C Aluminum Stand & Hub - USB-C Data Port, Micro/SD Card Readers, USB 3.0 & Headphone Jack Port - for M2/ M1 Mac Mini, Mac Studio, 2020 & 2018 Mac Mini (Space Gray).Allows me to add several peripheral devices, even a 3rd monitor (if your MacMini can handle 3) via the HDMI port. I teach medicine using Zoom for some of the courses, this hub allows me to plug in a USB microphone (Blue Yeti) and USB-C video cam (LogiTech) peripherals without any evidence of slowing.Design is key, this USB C Hub fits snugly under my MacMini nestled into a slot on the hub so the MacMini is secure, fits snugly, and looks sharp. What I wish (for Christmas) is a dock that comes bundled with a built-in cooling fan for my MacMini which classically runs very hot at 150F - 165F. Otherwise, this dock is very good, offers plenty of ports for my accessories, comes in several matching colors such as space gray which matches my MacMini 2018 model.5 stars for this compact, versatile, well designed MacMini USB C Hub. Cooling fan would make this a 10 star design.
