Solid piece of equipment. Have purchased many lighter weight cheaper tongs in the past and they have all fell apart and ended up in the bin. These tongs are made to last and you don't even have to fiddle to unlock them, just hold them vertically in either direction and the will unlock and lock without touching the locking mechanism. They take a little getting used to because they aren't feather weight. They don't open as far as some other tongs and that is the only slight negative.

Very sturdy and nice looking. Has an excellent grip for meat, etc.. Just takes a while to handle the open close lever. Can be a bit difficult, but in time it loosens up and becomes another All-Clad workhorse in your kitchen. I love all their products and was happy to add this to my collection.

These tongs maintain AllClad's quality and feel, even though they are manufactured in China. Simple and effect, nice heft without being heavy. Should last for years.

Hard to go back to any regular tongs after these. If you flip them upside down you can lock them. Pretty unique mechanism.
