Metal Earth Windmill 3D Metal Model Kit Fascinations

I loved putting this together! The windmill turned out super cute. I was a little skeptical at first. I wasn't sure what it would look like. The blades do not turn, for those of you who are wondering. It was a little difficult to attach the shaft part to the building, but it finally went together. I think this is one of the harder ones, at least for myself. But, I think anyone who enjoys models or metallurgy would love doing this.

For a long time, I've been pretty interested in these little metal models. A few weeks ago I bought the Chrysler Building. Now I am absolutely in love with these. By the time I built this one, I'd already built several others, including the Leaning Tower of Pisa (which taught me a lot about what mistakes to avoid). I had an absolute blast building this, but I wouldn't recommend this as the first model. Some of the directions are not particularly intuitive and it helps to have experience with other models before trying this one. If you've built a couple of others, I highly, highly recommend this one.

These are really fun puzzles that will hang around after assembly as cool mementos. My STEM-inspired granddaughter enjoys them a lot as well.

This product and all of the Metal Earth items are not toys. They are an intricate model that takes patience and skill to complete. They were not FUN to put together but challenging. The result s very satisfying and the models striking. Do not give this to a child or anyone who has a short attention span or gets frustrated easily. They are fragile before you start building, during the building process and after. The metal bends very easily and care must be taken to properly shape those pieces that require shaping. The right tools are essential. You will need fine needle nose pliers, tweezers, straight edges for bending, a shear cutter to remove the pieces from the metal sheet and a good magnifying lamp. The effort will be worth it.

This model looks fantastic when complete, and I found it easier to put together than the one I started with (the Mitsubishi Zero). The instructions are very clear and easy to understand, as you assemble different components before attaching them. I thought the recessed windows were an especially neat touch.

Very fun to make! The pieces were tiny and required a delicate touch. Easy to follow instructions. I found using the tip of an exacto knife and small needle nosed pliers worked well for folding the tabs and bending the metal evenly. I did scratch the metal in some places with the knife but mostly on the bottom.

These metal models are very tedious, but lots of fun. I haven't assembled this one just yet, but I'm expecting it to be little different from the previous ones I've done - a whole lot of squinting to see the little tabs, and a lot of bending things with tweezers. In the end, though, they come out loking pretty darn cool.

excellent. I am collecting these all. i love them, tiny little metal works. I have made several already and plan to make several more great deal... probably for older kids. Patience is definitely needed for these. My opinions are my own an not of others. I opinion-ate my own stuff. I get from no one! Well worth the buy!

È il mio secondo modello metal earth che costruisco. Questo è stato molto più semplice del primo (telescopio hubble). Penso sia un buon modellino dal quale partire. Solite raccomandazioni: è molto piccolo, servono pinzette, tronchesine e tanta pazinza, attenzione e fantasia. Si perché a volte le istruzioni vanno interpretate e magari adattate. A me piace molto!

Great craft toy which will provide an average person with a few hours of fun assembling it. There are some fiddly parts and task to make this but that added to the challenge and fun. All of the metal earth models that I have put together can be assembled with regular tools and household items. Eg. pliers, tweezers, screw driver or nails to form the metal into shape.

Das Tüfteln braucht einige Zeit und macht viel Spaß und das Ergebnis ist einfach nur toll! Die Windmühle hat viele kleine Details und passt jedes Regal.
