Best one out there... but
I've tried 3 different dampeners like this. This is the least noisy one. However, it's not magic. It probably provides a 25% reduction in noise

Cool, but not quiet
They give you cool character... but they don't make my drums quieter... the cymbals, yes... they are quieter.I am leaving them on for a while... likely on a set at all times, and still use without on my regular pair.Looks like they'll last a while and I may even buy another set ( of 4 ) when/ assuming these wear out.

They work!
Understand what you are getting here. They help to reduce the noise on cymbals especially. This isnt going to do anything for your snare. That said, I like to practice with these on. They add a bit weight to top which I find builds strength in a small way. It does reduce cymbal volume. They have never fallen off while I practice.

Not a game changer
This is a relatively cheap way to mute attack volume on drums, but it changes the weighting of the sticks and the overall volume reduction isn't that significant. Drum pads, or even using split sticks, is still my preferred method over these. However I do enjoy putting these on my sticks and then banging on just about anything around the house because they give the sticks more bounce on hard surfaces, and definitely make it quieter when playing on kitchen counters, etc

Good Value for Drummers
I wouldn't have thought of this until I saw a friend who had a set.First, these are good for suspended cymbal swells or low floor tom rolls. I put them on an old pair of sticks that I'm not using anymore. This is the best value because you don't have to put them on a new pair.Considering the high cost of most drum or instrument accessories, these are well worth the money. They fit well and appear to be durable for a long life of use. I have a pair of mallets for cymbals like most drummers do but these are an added benefit that actually add a different sound when using them. I'm happy with the purchase. And, I gave the second pair to a friend which was a bonus.

Not helpful for electronic drum kits
I bought these to try to quiet down the TAP TAP TAP TAP sound of my drum sticks against the hi hat/cymbal pads on my electronic drum kit and they made absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Wonderful solution to keeping your volume down while retaining your kits tone!
...I've had these about a week & love them! I was wondering about options when a stick breaks a tip. I've only been playing about two years, and I'm always concerned about is being too LOUD while I practice. I've tried bundled rod sticks (which are certainly quieter,) but you lose a lot of rebound. I use SoundOff drum mute pads on snare & toms which help a lot, but I then tend to hit them harder to get enough rebound. These tips are a great solution. They give both toms and cymbals a warm tone to ring out without the sharp initial attack, at about 1/3 the volume. The rebound has a wonderful feel to it, both on the drum set and on any hard surface, (without marking it up). I don't want to put the sticks down, (which is what you're looking for if you want to get better!)Overall, very pleasantly surprised. Not sure how long they'll last, but at this price, it's a no-brainer. Give 'em a try!PS- I recently switched out the rubber SoundOff pads on my toms for Rtom Black Hole mesh practice heads. I really like the bounce I get with these rubber tips. While nothing compares to playing on an actual drum head, with this combination I can practice at any hour and keep the peace in the house.Again, at this price they're worth trying out.
