Crazy good bargain, buy it and use it for anything and everything. Mine used daily and going great after a month.
I recently added under cabinet lighting to my kitchen counters. It looks fantastic once completed. I have a very large kitchen, around 25 feet or more and was able to wire the whole thing up for under $100. Without the diffusion rods, could've done it for under ~$30. I have a custom built house so I had the builder install electrical outlets above the top kitchen cabinets, this way I can plug in the adapters and it can't be seen from below. The most basic materials needed is 1. a plug in adapter to provide the 12V of power that plugs into the wall, 2. the wire for getting the 12V power from the adapter to the LED lights, the LED light strips, 3. and solderless connectors for hooking things up (this was a big headache). When I was installed the LED string lights I noticed the lights were glaring off my silestone countertops so I added a diffusion rod to diffuse the light, and the aluminum rod it came in made moving around the lights a lot easier during installation. Highly recommend getting the diffusion rods to protect your lights and re-orient them in the future without having to rip them out because their glue is strong and the LED strip is very weak. Below are the materials needed and my reviews for them. LE DC 12V 2A Power Supply Adapter, AC 100-240V to DC 12V Transformers, Switching Power Supply for 12V 3528/5050 LED Strip Lights, 24W Max, 12 Volt 2 Amp Power Adaptor, 2.1mm X 5.5mm US Plug https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019Q3U72M/ Great power supply, used for powering up my LED strips and the connector it comes with useful for testing connections before securing wires. I shorted it a few times and it must've had a built in protection circuit because it never burnt out or caught fire. It says 24W max and my LED strips are 24W so it must be slightly more efficient since it was able to drive them without issues. Later I only used half the light strip on this adapter since my kitchen has a gap in it. Buy this, you'll need it and its very cheap. Homelek 100V-240V To DC 12V 5A Power Supply Adapter, for SMD3528/5630/5050 LED Strip Lights https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DA1SAVG/ This one is OK, the issue is I didn't like is the 3 prong connector at the end as my z-wave light controller only has 2 pins so I had to use an adapter. I can sort of understand why though since it can push up to 5A unlike my other power adapter. This adapter is also big, it basically looks just like a laptop power adapter. I thought my lights would use more than 2A so I also got this adapter but I didn't end up needing so much power ( I still use this in the project). I might add floor lighting in the future, where this extra power capacity will come in useful. LE 16.4ft/5m Flexible LED Light Strips, 300 Units SMD 3528 LEDs, 12V DC Flexible LED Strip Lights, Daylight White, Non-waterproof, Lighting Strips, LED Tape, for Gardens/Homes/Kitchen/Cars/Bar https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSF65MC This is the heart of your system, the lights themselves! No wonder it has so many reviews, these lights are great and crazy cheap. For $10 you get 5m worth of lights, I thought it was a scam or there must be some catch because the quality of these lights are great. I didn't measure the power consumption, but they light up during the day and night very well. I actually bought two rolls because I thought one wasn't enough. Its OK though since I can use the second roll for future floor lighting. Pyle PSC1850 18-Gauge 50-Feet Spool of High Quality Speaker Zip Wire https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZX4RBM This is just generic speaker wire, but its great for hooking up LED lights because its thin so can be strung through cabinets easily, can drive ample current for LED lights and is easy to strip and work with. I used it to string wire from above the cabinets to down under the cabinets where the LED lights are situated. The kitchen cabinets usually have a gap between the cabinets, but in some cases I just drilled holes through the cabinet and pushed this wire through. For $3-4, if you don't already have enough wire, just get this. LE 2 Pcs Adapter Cable + 2 Pcs 2-Pin 8mm Connector Kit for 3528 Single Color LED Strip Lights, Gapless Strip to Strip, Cables Connect Adapter and LED Strips, Seamlessly Extend LED Strip Lights https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0085ZX8EM/ These are awesome, no wonder it has so many great reviews. The adapters are perfect for connecting to light strips and the connectors are good because they go over the LED strips guaranteeing a solid connection. Unfortunately, it only comes with 2 connectors so you need to buy more separately. Glo-shine 20pcs LED Strip Solderless Connector Adapter for 3528 Waterproof Single Color Led Strip ,2pin 8mm PCB Wide (GS-DJ-8BB-2-20) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013SPE8JW This is why my project took several days instead of one afternoon. These are horrible, don't buy it unless you hate yourself. The problem is when they shut close, they don't securely come in contact with the LED strips, resulting in very loose connections and the LED strips just falling out of them. I ended up having to BUY A soldering iron to solder my connections to these horrible pins. FINELED 10 Lots 2pins 8mm Wide Waterproof LED Strip Light Connector Adapter for SMD 5050 3528 Single Color LED Strip Light, No Need Soldering (10PCS) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0180EGI9E Same thing with these, horrible. Far too loose to be useful connectors for the 8mm single color LED strips I was using. Maybe because in the description it says for WATERPROOF LED strips, and since mine are not waterproof they might be much thinner. My LED strips are 8 mm so it should work well but it doesn't. They should be like the other connectors I bought where the LED strip goes underneath the contacts. I ended up having to BUY A soldering iron to solder my connections to these horrible pins. LightingWill 5-Pack 3.3ft/1M 9x17mm Silver U-Shape Internal Width 12mm LED Aluminum Channel System with Cover, End Caps and Mounting Clips Aluminum Profile for LED Strip Light Installations-U02S5 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DM7EXBO/ This is optional but highly recommended, it diffuses the lights and protects them. Allows you to easily move the lights around, etc. I wish it was cheaper, it basically cost as much as everything else in the project combined, but luckily one order was enough for the whole kitchen and I even ended up with some spare material. Its easy to cut, I was able to use a hacksaw for the aluminum, and scissors/wire stripppers for the diffusion covers. The covers snap easily into the aluminum channel. GoControl Z-Wave Plug-in Dimmer Module - PD300Z-2 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E1OXK3A I control the lights using my z-wave controller. This works really well. Sometimes it doesn't pair well with my domoticz z-wave controller. I figured out I need to just reboot the controller and it should show up.

Bright, consistent, and economical
I bought this on a lark because I'd been experimenting with LED strip lighting from a number of manufacturers, and found this unusually long LED strip at a good price. Though it didn't come with a power supply or switch, I figured I would be able to locate a suitable transformer for the 12V and 18W needed. It took some searching, and I must have checked about two dozen old transformers in my garage before finding one that had the right connector plug and electrical specs. You may have to some trial and error if you want to rummage your own power supply, or you can buy the one they suggest. So once I had it working what do I do with it? I soon found a lighting situation that couldn't be remedied with a normal lamp, but this was perfect. You have to be careful in removing the paper from the LED strip. First time I started, I started peeling both the paper and the adhesive off the back of the LED strip. But once you get it right, the adhesive sticks quite well. All of the LEDs worked first time, and still work. There was a strong chemical smell when I first opened and inspected the LEDs, and I'm not sure whether that is the adhesive or a byproduct of the LED manufacturing. Now that it's installed there is no smell. Overall, this is a great value. It's nice to be able to put an old 12V transformer to good use. The only thing missing is a switch. I'm still looking for a good way to set up a switch to turn the lights on and off, as now the only way to control them is to plug or unplug the transformer power cable or the barrel connector from the transformer to the LEDs.

Bright, durable, lower power draw and very easy to use! Did I mention bright?
So far so good! I've purchased a couple of these to light up my shed and I have to say, pretty darn cool! No really, not hot to the touch at all!! Sorry. I cut each strip into three separate sections, used their tape backs to attach to the rafters and then wired them up to small solar station. I thought that just using the first strip was bright but when I added the second, WOW! It also helps that we painted the inside of the shed white and very light blue. Even though they come with strips of tape on their back (and which I gladly used) I also used some clear mono-filament and some small brads to zig-zag them to the rafters due to the constant hot and cold fluctuations. I've had the first set up for a while and, knock on wood, they've been working great. Easy to work with, very bright (even though I didn't go with the 5050 strips - larger LEDs further spaced) and they don't draw a lot of power. I opted for the "Daylight" LEDs because I wanted the most bang for the buck as it were. Not disappointed. I feel the warmer whites, in this particular implementation, would have looked "off" in a shed. My humble opinion, your mileage may vary. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone who is interested in a low voltage or solar lighting project. Edit: The picture shows a single LED strip (5m) that I cut into thirds. This is prior to installing the second strip. No other lighting and no special photo effects to make things look "brighter". That one strip put out a heck of a lot of light all on its own.

I can see!!!
When our house was built we should have had lights installed in all the closets ... but we didn't. After a recent remodel of our daughter's room I placed some LED strip lights (different brand) in her closet along with a magnetic switch to cut them off and on as the door opens, I knew that was what I wanted to do in some of the other closets. I bought these to do another closet which hold wrapping paper and photo albums and all sorts of random stuff that we need to access periodically and which can be a pain to find without proper light. A bit of soldering to wire it up to the power supply (I chose not to use the adapters that came with the lights, but certainly appreciate that I had them!) and to create a few T's for extra runs down the walls and they were done! As far as soldering, these were much easier to deal with than the waterproof versions I used on the previous project because there was no coating that had to be removed first. While I still chose to use staples to secure them to the walls, the adhesive backing on these was also much better than the waterproof ones of another brand. The lights are bright and uniform in color (even across two rolls ... which isn't always the case). They've been up for a few months now with no failures though they aren't on all that much. The reason I deducted 1 star is that throughout both rolls I purchased, there were several places where the adhesive backing seemed to be a tiny bit smaller / shorter than the actual LED strip. The result is a few random wrinkles where it bunches up a bit. It really isn't terrible and, at least for my application, isn't seen, but it also keeps them from being 5-star-worthy in my opinion. Overall, great product and price. I'd buy them again ... and probably will when I get ready to tackle that coat closet in our foyer (I HATE climbing through the attic to run wire)!

Great price! SO many projects!
This kit is such a great deal and literally has just about everything you need to do most projects. I am using these lights for two separate projects and LED strip lights make me feel like a pro. I am adding these to my makeup mirror so that I can get some great, EVEN lighting. Where my window is in correlation to my makeup vanity in my room only gives light to one side of my face and of course thats also the same side that has an outlet for a lamp. So simply adding this to a plain mirror will give me full, even light for makeup application. It's been so easy! My other project is a little more complicated. I will be using these inside my closet to be the lighting for my closet. I am hoping to put in a transformer and be able to attach it to the wiring that is connected to my closet light switch. I am very happy with the amount of light these give off. I read that the 5050 versions are super bright, but I honestly don't think they would even work for my makeup mirror project since they would be too bright. I am very happy with how easy these are to make work! You can legit find tutorials on youtube that will teach you how to do so many things with these. The world is literally your oyster and you can light up so many things with there. And the price for this is ridiculously low. I can do multiple projects with these and just buy extra connectors and such to get the job done! So pleased!

Great for my enclosure!
These lights are awesome! I bought these lights to light up my 3D printer enclosure that I built and they do a fantastic job! I was skeptical of how their quality would be, but I was suitably pleased with how they illuminated the box. As a side note: YOU NEED TO BUY A POWER ADAPTER. There is not one included with the package, but at $7 I would not expect one to be included. The LEDs come in a long strip where there are small lines that indicate where to cut. If you don't cut along those lines, the circuit may not work. The kit also comes with two connectors in case you need to connect multiple strings or make a right angle. The adhesive on the back of the strip is relatively strong and has held up well to heat. The end connector is well made and soldered onto the end, but the spool where everything is stored is a bit flimsy. Otherwise it has been great! I would recommend these for general projects or display lighting, but these are NOT waterproof. These would not work well for outside applications, but other than that, they have been working great for me!

Power specs not as advertised, good adhesive, good price.
The Good: The price is almost laughably low (Probably because they are screw-ups they are trying to sell off cheep, see below). The adhesive is better then I have seen on other LED strips. The copper pads for making connections are also better then some other rolls I have seen. They are in fact 6000k Daylight white. The Bad: Power specs are actually half of what is listed. (Likely a screwup in manufacturing, they used to large of current limiting a resistor). Conclusion: If you are just trying to put up some ascent lighting in your house these are not a bad option as the adhesive is really what matters. If you are looking for an exact brightness/power use then spend a bit more and get a strip with an accurate power rating. Would I buy again? Only as an inexpensive lighting option, If I was making an LED panel light I would look for a more reliable manufacture with brighter LEDs. In the weeds info: I bough three strips and cut them up into 13.5 inch sections adhering them to a panel. I then wired a buss bar across the positive and negative sides of the strips. I added some custom power connectors to the panel and then hooked it up to a 12V SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) capable of delivering 385 watts on the 12VDC line. (Modified ATX power supply) Power specs not as advertised: The specs listed on amazon have them at 20 watts @ 12 VDC. I wired three strips together and then tested the current draw getting 3 amps @ 12 VDC. That puts all three strips at 36 watts or 13 watts per strip. That is almost half the power listed. The data sheet that came with the LEDs stated a power rating of 4.8 watts per meter and a tottal length of 5 meters. That puts the power at 24 watts. So clearly these power numbers are just made up or are equivalent rating (not shocked). My best theory at the moment is that they used the wrong size current limiting resistor, the ones I got have a 240 ohm resistors limiting the current of 3 LEDs with a forward voltage of 2.8v to 50mA. The photos show a strip with 150 ohm resistors, effectively doubling the current available. It should also be noted the photos show strips with slightly different copper pads. I went onto DigiKey and speced out SMD LEDs that would be the likely spec for what I got and they have max current specs that start around 75mA and go up to 240mA. This only supports my theory about the resistors. Given the price I would be willing to try out some of their other LED rolls and provide extensive feedback.

CAUTION
CAUTION: These are VERY addictive!! I have now ordered and installed more than 6 sets of these in various locations around the house and work. Anywhere and everywhere there is a dark corner or an area that needs a little more lighting or accent lighting. Under kitchen cabinets (top and bottom), inside built ins, entertainment cabinet, around bathroom mirrors (wife LOVED this!!!), in my workshop and, one of my favorites, underneath my bed and behind the headboard as accent lights ( really sets the mood nicely). I'm plotting on several other places to install some of these lights. They're so easy to install! Simply peel and stick wherever you need more light. Make sure the connectors are firmly in place or you could see some flickering. Try not to fiddle too much inserting the tape into the connector so as not to bend the ends too much which I have found causes loose connections and becomes increasingly difficult to reinsert if you need to adjust it. If you can make the connection on the first or second try is best since it is flimsy but if you mess it up too bad simply cut that section off and try again. Do try and leave just enough of the backing of the tape on so that insertion into the connector is possible and it does give the flimsy tape some strength. I recommend buying several different types and configurations of tape connectors (i.e. L-connectors for corners & connectors with wires), and different types of wire connectors and splices including adapters for wires to power plugs both male and female. When I get more time (hopefully soon) I will update with some links for various accessories and connectors I have found, through trial and error, to be helpful and more functional than others. Overall I highly recommend these lights! I honestly cannot imagine my life without them anymore and wouldn't go back to a time before them.

Fast perfekt!

Fantastic!
Wow! I didn't expect this quality for the price I paid. The LEDs arrived on a small plastic roll with red and black wires on the end. The wires were great for the first installation and I used terminal blocks to connect to them. Every third LED there is a cutting marker so the ribbon can be cut to length give or take about 4cm. Every 60cm or so (estimated, can't remember exactly) there are solder blobs marked + and - that you can reattach a 12V DC cable to. When you do this, the LEDs on each side of the cable light, so if you had to cut before the connection point they aren't wasted. They are a bright daylight white, I don't need a high CRI rating I'm not using them for photography just in my motorhome. They look as described to the naked eye. I replaced a 16W fluorescent fitting which was dim with about 1m of these, it's way brighter than the original fixture and uses just 3W. I also installed in the rear garage of the motorhome, just a 1m strip at one side is suffice to illuminate the large space at night. In the rear is 3M tape. Beware of cheaper brands offering poor quality tape that doesn't stick... I bought and returned one! This is very sticky and easily holds itself even when installed upside down. All in all highly recommended, I'm hooked and already ordered a second roll 😉
