Jungle Gardenia

Smells like the old traditional one my mother wore 40 years ago. Still exotic and classy. I love the metal container instead of glass. I take it traveling as its easier to pack without worry over breakage that I have with glass bottles.

So I received the Jungle Gardenia today and other reviewers are correct, it is quite small, purse size only, which is why the price is low for eau de perfume vs. cologne. More importantly, it somewhat smells like the original Tuvache Jungle Gardenia that I wore in the 60s (yes, I'm one of those who loved this scent, I also love Gardenias). I read other reviews indicating that ingredients have indeed changed meeting newer regulations restricting some of the ingredients thus the scent is somewhat different and this is true. I'm also unsure how well this scent "stays with you", I've only sampled it and although it is very potent (only need a small amt.), I don't believe it lingered. Perhaps I've just moved on and what I loved back in the day perhaps just didn't meet current expectations? I wanted it to smell more like the flower itself and there is just something "off" about it. It is pleasant, I'll just have to use it a little more. It just doesn't do it for me but it is something I likely will use. I'm going to keep searching for a perfume that perhaps smells more like the flower, which is a more delicate smell. I think I would simply suggest that people looking for the original experiment with the various products out there??

My mother used to wear this perfume, so I was so excited to give it as a Christmas gift to my sisters. It arrived, its in a can, its so small for the price and it smells like oil! I was so embarrassed. Its awful, do not get, smells nothing like the old Jungle Gardenia that came in a beautiful bottle. so unhappy with the price and product.

True retro fragrance . I gifted this item to a relative that used this scent many years ago- brought back memories.

I never smelled the "original" Jungle Gardenia so I have nothing for a comparison. I will say that this perfume fades 10 minutes after it is applied. The amount is very small for $39, it doesn't really smell like gardenias and I'm so so sorry that I wasted my money!!
