I just received this and it was wrapped in plastic with no box and no instructions! I have never used one of these before. Help!

Hello, Kristen. Although odd that you did not receive instructions and a box, you can still be okay. Fill the pot to the desired level with cold water. Place the basket and stand inside. Put fresh coffee grounds in the basket. You can heat on a stove or over a camp fire. The water will percolate into the glass atop the pot - it's acutally pretty cool. WHen it stops, the coffee is done. BUT, the handle is probably hot, too - use a mitt. Enjoy!

says 8cup is that 6oz or 8oz cup, anyone have ideal on totat capacity 1qt,2qt ?

Camp percollators usually use 5oz cups, so 8 cups = 40 oz. Or roughly 3 1/2 of the 16oz. Bottled water.

Is it porcelain inside as well as outside ?

The inside is the same as the outside.

We are using this for camping. Will it work over both the propane stove and the campfire?

I have used mine over the campfire many times. Don't see why it wouldn't work over propane.
