Brittle and Airy
This pastel in this pencil is completely broken. This was a replacement after having a similar but less severe problem with the black and white ones on my Stabilo set. I have yet to sharpen this one. I tried multiple sharpeners, including a brand new unused official Stabilo sharpener. Some pigments seem impossibility brittle and even a little airy.

These pencils crack, break off easily and smear
I purchased two of the yellow pencils for drawing...when they arrived the points were broken...I sharpened them and they broke off time after time. When I took a good look at the pencil itself I saw that it was cracked, both pencils were....I started to draw a design the color smeared all over the paper. Can not recommend these pencils for anything that would require the color to stay on the paper and not break off when the slightest bit of pressure is applied to the pencil.

Perfect!
This is just what I needed as a marking pencil while cutting out and sewing a large number of masks. It works very well on my darker fabrics and is easily washed out. I would definitely purchase again and recommend to any crafts person. (It would also be great while drawing with pastels or charcoal.)

Not the best purchase I’ve made.
Every time I tried sharpening the pencil to make a sharp point, it would keep breaking. I will get the same color next time, but it will be in Lead-pencil form. Pastel form is just not for me. Sorry.

They can be sharpened!
For me, these pastel pencils are much better than others I have tried. Great range of colors and easy to blend with good brands of soft pastels like Sennelier or Rembrandts. And the most important thing for me is that they sharpen easily compared with other pastel pencil brands I have tried.

Loved it!
Finally a true pastel pencil I can draw with! Rembrandt pastel but in a pencil.Exact softness I was looking for and highly opaque. Great for my Strathmore pastel journal. May actually buy a set. These compare to Faber Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils

Perfect for drawing
Well! What a pleasant surprise! The pencil works perfectly when used on a surface of dry acrylic paint, which was the point of this order. I'm thrilled with the results I've gotten so far.

Great pastel pencil for portraits
Pencil came quick and I was able to try out last night and it is absolutely perfect. I would recommend. This is the pencil mentioned in Maughan's "The Artists's Complete Guide to Drawing the Head". I added photo of my first drawing with this pencil, full supply list STABILO CARBOTHELLO CHALK-PASTEL PENCIL Titanium White [Office Product ] Strathmore 500 Charcoal Paper 25 Sheets Paper 19x25" - Velvet Gray Carb Othello Pastel Pencil Caput Mortuum Red Art Alternatives Sandpaper Pencil Pointer - 4 Pack for sharpening with some kind of knife or razor

Decent pastel pencil
I have FC Pitt pastel pencils and Koh I Noor Gioconda pastel pencils and I would rate this lower than both of them for the pigment. But there is really not a lot in it. They're all pretty similar. It does lay down nicely though and sharpens well. I actually had an issue on the first sharpening with the lead snapping. But on further sharpening it turned out to be fine. It's definitely nice to use and as my first of this brand it has certainly ensured that I will be buying some of the other colours. It's on a par with the Pitt and Gioconda and far better than the Creta. In my opinion.

not a 'pack of 12' only one
It was advertised as a 'pack of 12' and yet only one arrived. With P&P quite pricey for one pencil (£4.20). I tried using the pencil to emphasise a small dark area on my latest picture and yet it doesn't appear vibrant but very flat and muted despite putting on the correct under layers of pastel so had to buy another brand at a fraction of the cost but to excellent effect. All in all not a good purchasing experience and would not recommend this make of black pastel pencil

A waste of money
Really expensive and it's a nightmare to sharpen. Much thinner than other pencils, crumbles so easily. Not the brightest white either, won't go over anything very well. I used it for blending. Very powdery. I bought expensive pastel sharpeners, desk top ones etc. None work for this pencil. Wish I'd returned it.

perfect as I was part way through a picture when ...
Arrived quickly, perfect as I was part way through a picture when the one from my set just got too small to use. These chalk pastels are really easy to work with and blend very well. I like to sketch out my drawings with this colour instead of using pencil as its easy to see on the paper and blends well into the colours without altering them with just one layer, yet when used over the top of colours stands out well

Essential to my range of pastels
This pencil is regularly in use as it provides a brilliant white coupled with a degree of hardness that is not to be found in soft pastels. It is an essential element among the range of coloured pastels that I use, enabling me to provide fine detail as well as covering wider areas with colour when needed.
