Gloss+, Strawberry - 6.5 fl oz

I was very hesitant to buy this product due to the mixed reviews, but I decided to go for it and I’m so glad I did! First two pics are before and second are after. Shown in indirect and direct sunlight. My hair is naturally dark blonde and I used the strawberry gloss. I have the tiniest hit of red, but it can only be seen in direct sunlight. My goal was to intensify that hint of red and become a true strawberry blonde, and I was also open to being a true redhead. I almost went for the copper color, and I know that many of the bad reviews are with that color. If you have any shade of blonde or maybe even light brown hair and want somewhat subtle results, I’d recommend going with strawberry over copper. There are a few factors that I think contribute to a beautiful result with this product. 1. Virgin hair - my hypothesis for why some people experience patchy results is differing porosities of hair texture on the same head. I bleached my hair for many years, and I don’t think this product is ideal for that texture. I stopped about 4 years ago and have now fully grown out and cut off any color-treated hair. 2. Ensuring an exfoliated scalp and fully clean hair - it seems like some folks were left with vivid roots and a dyed scalp. At least every other time I wash my hair, I use a scalp scrub before shampooing. I then use a clarifying shampoo focusing on the scalp and roots, rinse it out, and then a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo on both the roots and lengths of my hair. I only use the clarifying shampoo when I am about to apply a hair treatment. The other times I shampoo twice with the same gentle shampoo. Before I started using a scalp scrub, I didn’t think I had much product/oil build-up, but it has been an absolute game changer in my routine. But that’s a review for another day lol. 3. Be intentional and thorough with application - I personally wouldn’t recommend putting this product into your hair while you’re still in the shower like you would with conditioner like some other reviewers have said. I do scalp scrub, double shampoo, and then the rest of my shower routine. After I get out and dry off, I squeeze excess water out of my hair by scrunching with a cotton turban, but a t-shirt would be just as good. I then section my hair into quadrants and make sure I thoroughly saturate each section and comb through it with a wide-toothed comb before moving on to the next section. I use gloves for this step. Once I’m done, I comb it all out again to ensure every strand is coated evenly. Then I put my hair up in a big claw clip. 4. Saturation time - the first time I used this product, I only left it in for about 10 minutes, maybe less, as I was terrified I would experience overly pigmented, patchy results. I am relieved that was not the case, but leaving the product in for that short of a time gave me very, very subtle results. The next few times I have extended the leave-in time to 15-30 minutes and have liked the result more the longer I leave it in before rinsing. 5. Rinsing - after the product has had time to sit, I get back in the shower and thoroughly rinse. I have not noticed the color coming out at all in the water like some have said. I have only used the strawberry gloss, so that may be a factor, but I also think rinsing with cool/cold water helps. I don’t add conditioner after rinsing out the gloss, but I do put in the leave-in conditioner I always use after a wash and then style as usual. I know this was very long-winded, but I hope someone finds it helpful, whether you are considering buying this product or already bought it and were disappointed with your results. I have applied this 3, maybe 4, times now and have only used about a third of the bottle. For context, my hair goes past my shoulders and is slightly thicker than average. I use about 3 pumps per section of hair. I wash my hair every 5 days, so I get about a month of noticeable color per application. I will definitely keep using this product for the foreseeable future. Left photo is after, right photo is before. I'm a natural ginger and heard that people in the redhead community like this product. I just wanted to give my hair a subtle boost since it is winter and my hair gets dull from not being outside as much. I got strawberry since my hair looks similar to that color in the summer. It takes a lot of product to coat your hair and I feel like it washed completely out the next time I showered, but it did boost the color in a really natural way. I think next time I would try copper or a mix of strawberry and copper to see if it stays in my hair longer. I still prefer how Overtone's color lasts longer, but I prefer how this has a more natural looking end result. My wavy hair felt very soft afterwards too. I would recommend this product I just wished it lasted longer in my hair.

This didn’t se to work for me. I used it daily and it did stain my shower walls, but not my hair unfortunately.

This color is great and gives me the strawberry blond I want.

I’ve tried a few different redhead hair glosses, my favorite end result is still probably Kirsten Ess Copper Penny. But I like that this one has multiple uses without having to do any mixing. It also makes it a much cheaper price per use. Not sure on the longevity of the color yet but I don’t expect it will last that long, which is fine. I left it on for about 16 minutes out of the recommended 3-20, and it did have an effect that is subtle and only visible in some lighting but I do like the result. When I first tried it and left it on for only about 8 minutes I did not see any difference. No strong smell or any adverse effects.

I’ve used this product twice now to make sure it wasn’t just user error that was resulting in really uneven results. Both times I’ve done my best to coat all of my hair from scalp to ends, and work quickly so that the timing is consistent. Both times I’ve left it on for 18 minutes and then rinsed out well. It looks great in some spots, but it always ends up blotchy in areas. And the worst part is, it looks like I never even used it the next time I wash my hair. Maybe I’ll give it a third attempt as I still have product left, but for the price I’m definitely underwhelmed and disappointed.

As a ginger whose hair is fading to caramel/strawberry blonde with age, I tried Strawberry to get more red tone back without having to use harsh chemical dyes or deal with flat-looking/messy henna. After following the directions and leaving on for 20 minutes, I saw absolutely no difference after rinsing off. Didn’t seem to be that hydrating/shine-boosting either. I may try Copper to see if I have better luck, but I’m also hesitant to drop another $40 for something that may not work on untreated hair.

This is a pricey product compared to similar items on the market but the extra price is absolutely worth it. My hair is naturally a light strawberry blonde but I wanted to punch it up a bit so I used the strawberry blonde gloss and it really looks beautiful imo. It also does give a nice deep conditioning treatment. This product doesn't create a dramatic colour change put it does give your hair a pop of colour. I will definitely be adding this to my routine.

Utter rubbish ! Dont waste your money .

I’ve been just leaving my natural red hair to fade to a shade of white blonde for at least 5 years now and, it didn’t bother me until the pandemic and, into the winter months of year two when the woman staring back in the mirror had no colour so I decided to attempt to colour my hair hoping for as natural a look as possible. I hesitated to buy this conditioning tint as this product is on the pricey side however, I liked the idea of the ease of applying it when showering or bathing. I bought the strawberry blonde and, initially could see an orange tint where my hair was most faded (top of head) which I wasn’t happy with however, after 3-4 additional applications specifically to that area it no longer has any orange tint and, I’m happy with the final results. I do wish this product wasn’t so pricey so that I could justify purchasing the auburn as well and, see if with some blending I can create my own perfect shade.

I used the strawberry and it left it in for 20 minutes. A small difference from my natural colour, but the gloss is noticeable and my hair feels soft. Overall, I’m happy.

Does not deposit colour on white hairs of natural redheads at all. I’ve used a little, and a lot. And have left on for 3 mins up to 25 - even more than directed. With no change to unpigmented hair. Water rinses clear as day after application and not with red hue like with other depositing glosses.
