💦 Keep your pool pristine and your summer stress-free with Phosfree!
Natural Chemistry Phosfree is a 3-liter phosphate remover that uses rare earth lanthanum compounds to reduce phosphate levels in pool water to near zero. Applied via the skimmer, it forms a coating inside the filter media that traps phosphates, preventing algae growth and water cloudiness. Proven effective within 48 hours, it simplifies pool maintenance, reduces chemical use, and keeps water crystal clear all season long.

Just Awesome
We had a green algae problem from middle of last year onward. I would get algae along the bottom of our walls even though my Free Chlorine, PH, and Alkalinity were all perfect. I would by some Green to Clean, which would get rid of it for a bit, but then it would come right back days later. Eventually, I just closed the pool last September and blamed it on something wrong with our DE filter. This year, our filter broke so we got a new one (DE again). Same freakin' problem with Algae. Spent another $100 on Green to Clean and Chlorine, and the algae was still coming back along the bottom edges first - and then up the walls and along the floor. After reading a ton of reviews everywhere, I bought 2 bottles of this product. The pool was a pretty bad color of green about now, but we tested and poured the right amount noted this in anyway. We tested in 48 hrs, and emptied/refilled the DE in our filter (no bumping, as that would release a lot of algae back into the pool). We kept doing this ~3 or 4 times over the week (test Phosphate, pour in recommended amt, cycle DE) and we are now back on track! It did cost me ~1 25lb bag of DE, some chlorine, and time scrubbing the pool to loosen up the algae, but it worked! The phosphate level is below 100 now, and the pool is crystal blue. I turned our pump down so it is only on 8hrs per day (energy savings), as well as not having to dump 2 lbs of shock in every few days in addition to my inline chlorine feeder - just to stay ahead of this! We only used up 1 3liter bottle getting our 27' round pool in shape, but we will definitely be checking weekly and using our 2nd bottle thru the summer, closing, and next year. Must have this stuff on hand at all times! NOTES: - If you have a DE filter, expect to cycle the DE at least every day until the pool gets clean. - Don't forget to stir. This is a milky white product, and we thought it was clear for the longest time because the white stuff was on the bottom. Thanks for all the reviews - a huge help! UPDATE AFTER USING FOR 2 MONTHS: STILL NO ALGAE!! This is amazing stuff! Buying some more now (1/2 price) to have on hand for next year. I agree with another reviewer - this is the best kept secret at any pool supply store. Even if you don't have an algae problem yet, you should still get this stuff because you don't want an algae problem. UPDATE AFTER POOL OPENING FOLLOWING YEAR: STILL AMAZING!! I put the rest of my 3 liter jug into the pool at the end of last year, and this year we opened our pool late (mid June), and there was still no algae. We measured the Phosphate levels again, and they were fine. We went right to a maintenance dosage this year. When we opened our pool late in prior years, the pool looked like a swamp. It used to have flies, frogs, and some other weird swimming creatures. We couldn't even see the bottom of the pool. Now, after using this - it is amazing. Will never go back, and I always have an extra 3 liter on hand now!

Total Game-Changer
I've been maintaining a pool for years and have tried countless products to deal with recurring algae issues, but nothing compares to PHOSfree. I started noticing persistent green tints even after shocking and brushing, so after some research I realized high phosphate levels were likely to blame. I added this to my skimmer as directed and within 48 hours, the cloudiness began to lift. By day 3, my pool was sparkling again.I tested phosphate levels before and after using it and saw a dramatic reduction from over 1000 ppb to under 100 ppb in one treatment. This has now become a staple in my regular maintenance. If you’ve been battling algae despite balanced water, check your phosphates—this product works wonders. Highly recommended!

excellent product at a very good price
Works well, but use as directed (no more than 48 ounces per application, then wait 2 days and backwash before adding more). Water will get slightly cloudy from the product but this clears up over night. Very effective in lowering my Phosphate levels from 1693 (which was way to high) down to 345. Will be adding a little more later this week. DO NOT SHOCK while using this product; the shock will kill the noPhos chemical and render it useless.

It's doing the job to lower phosphates, but need another bottle to finish the job
Product is fairly simple to use as long as you read the instructions. I like that it is from "lanthanum (rare earth) compounds" and has no toxic warning labels on it, which makes me feel safe about having my kids swim after treatment. Surprisingly it didn't specify a wait period before swimming, however I waited overnight before entering the pool again. I hadn't been doing any phosphate treatments and as soon as the water temp came up this spring brown algae started taking hold. I shocked and scrubbed the algae away but quickly realized that the pool wasn't holding chlorine and the algae would come right back. I assumed phosphates were high so I ordered a bottle of Phosfree to try and get a hold of the algae. The retailer actually included a phosphate test kit which was great as I was about to purchase one separately. The test showed results that were off the chart which topped out at 1000ppb. After treating my 16K gallon pool twice (1.5L each at 24hr interval) and running the pump for 48hrs the phosphate level has just come below 1000ppb, so I can only estimate that I must have been around 2000ppb. The water clarity is already much better even though I still have a phosphate problem. I've ordered a second bottle to get below 500ppb. I would agree with others that say you probably don't need near zero or even <200ppb, as I didn't see a real problem until I got to very high levels. I think it's important to clean your filter medium (cartridge or backwash for DE) as the instructions indicate, don't add more than 1.5L in a 24hr period and let your pump run 48hrs. UPDATE: The results from the Phosfree Test Kit (by Natural Chemistry) that the retailer included (small vile with pills that are added to sample) seems to be inaccurate, or I don't know how to use it. Although I tried to follow the instructions exactly it showed 1000+ppb even after two 3L bottles of Phosfree. Took my water to Leslie's today and they measured 50ppb. Did I really need 2 bottles? I guess 50 is a good number, but probably much lower than it needs to be. Should I be surprised that the company who sells Phosfree also has a phosphate test kit that reads 1000ppb when it is really 50? At any rate I do feel as though the Phosfree product worked well to lower my phosphates and my water looks great.
