Brushed Gold - Vinyl Decal Mod Skin Kit by System Skins - Compatible with PlayStation 3 Slim Console

I wanted to upgrade my old PS3 slim external while I was upgrading the hard drive. I love purple and came across this skin from System Skins. I thought I'd give it a try because I loved the metallic look. I got it and found out that they provide a whole lot of skin (he he) for your console. Two things. They provide great installation instructions and you need to follow them in making and using the slip solution. If you are unfamiliar a slip solution is mixing a small amount of dishwashing liquid with a lot of water and mix it up. It's used like the solution used to install window tint and will help greatly to properly install this skin. There are a lot of very small cuts with this because it covers the bottom, top, sides, and even on the bottom and top of every small flat surface on the PS3 except the back panel and if you have a steady hand you can take care of that as well. There is a rectangular portion of the skin for the bottom that is removed so that the data plate on the bottom remains visible. That extracted part of the skin pits the rear of the console almost perfectly (not covering the vent area, just the right side with all of your connections) so you can take that and place it on the rear like I did, press kind of hard so that you can see the outlines for all of your connections and then use a sharp razor or scalpel you can get right here on Amazon to cut out the areas around your connections so everything can be connected as always and you end up with every surface that is not a vent covered in metallic purple! I highly recommend this product.

This product is called a "skin" my son wanted to be the first in the neighborhood to have one and he is:-) it fits over the game console and looks like diamond plating. I have to admit it is very cool. They do offer different colors styles and graphics and although not part of prime it was worth it to see my son so happy. It fits really well not covering the vents so the system can still breathe. Best of all it was not to be delivered until Dec. 26, and I was really surprised and happy it came on Christmas eve.

I first became interested in this product after I bought a white PS4. The white PS4 looked great in my media cabinet, but you could hardly see my black PS3 slim. I considered buying a white ps3 case on eBay, but they ship from China and I was concerned about the quality of the product I was getting. So instead I settled on this white skin. In the end, I was REALLY impressed. As you can see from my pictures, the PS3 and PS4 really compliment each other now. The job I did is not perfect. There is some overlap with some of the stickers and I have places where stickers are not quite flush with the edge of the system. If you were to get up very close, you would notice an air bubble or two, or maybe even a place where I tore the sticker. But if you step back a couple of feet, it looks great. All in all, this product definitely exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to show it off to some friends. I did want to share a few tips though for whoever purchases this. * The directions suggest using dish soap and water in a spray bottle and spraying the back of the sticker before applying so you can adjust it. This is a MUST, especially with the top sticker. You have very little margin for error. Once the sticker is down, it's not coming off without tearing and stretching. * I did this project while I was already taking apart my PS3 to replace the thermal compound. I believe this made adding the stickers much easier as I was able to remove both the top and bottom covers; move them around; and spray them liberally with soap, and still avoid any of the electronics in the machine.If you have the means, I would recommend removing the top cover of the PS3 when you put on the sticker to keep from damaging any internal components with the spray. * I didn't bother applying the bottom sticker to the bottom of the console as my PS3 sits horizontally, and no one will ever see it. I also didn't apply the sticker over the power and eject buttons. Use your own judgment for those though. * The set includes a controller skin, but I didn't bother with this as I already had a white PS3 controller. * Give yourself at least an hour to do this job, I worked on the top sticker for a solid 30 mins. to get as perfect as possible. I was happy with the result, but it was time consuming. A few downsides: * The sticker is pretty fragile. I tore it twice trying to use my credit card to remove air bubbles. They were barely noticeable, but enough to make me be more careful. Be gentle. * Once attached, the sticker is not coming off cleanly without tearing or stretching. So without the soap mixture, you only get one shot to do this right. (NOTE: That the instructions do say they will replace a sticker if you tear one if you pay the cost of shipping). * There really should be a diagram or number system telling you where each sticker goes. When it comes to the sides of the console, I had to look over the dimensions several times before I was convinced I was placing the stickers in the right places. I really loved the look of the PS3 after putting on this skin. I'm interested to see how it holds up over a few months. I'll update this review if needed.

I bought this skin for my boyfriend because he's one of those guys that likes white everything, but we didn't want a whole new ps3 (just bought the ps4) so this was our alternative. Let me say that this skin looks AMAZING. Let me say though. If you're not detail oriented or patient this skin is NOT for you. He spent a total of 1hr and 45min meticulously matching up the sticker and putting this on the console. The end result was very worth it. I would buy again and again. Even the LEDS Show through the sticker. (see pictures) But I won't have to because it seems to be durable and the adhesive holds well!

Excellent skin for your PS3 Slim system . I used a homemade slip solution with a quarter size joy dishwashing soap and filled spray bottle with water and made the application of the skin much easier to put on the console. It takes time and patience to apply but take your time and it will turn out great. I made my a little more custom by adding a custom decal of God Of War on top of my console which the red background makes it stand out. I always wanted a limited edition God Of War PS3 so i decided to make my very own with this Rocking Red skin . I highly recommend this skin in anyone who wants to customize their console from the boring original flat black color of their PS3 Slim.

Not at all the quality that you would get from other places like skinit, but it does look nice. Be very carful when applying it, you can tear or rip it if not carful. Unlike skinit product it is very thin, and if not applied correctly after the first few try's, it will soon fail to stick at all. It came with skins for two controllers as well, which I wasn't at all expecting. It was good I wasn't because the controller skins or extremely poor quality and I quickly discarded them. If your looking for a skin for a controller, go with a custom repainting. As constant contact with your skin will wear these skins out quickly. For the price it's pretty nice, I'm very happy with shinny mirror like gold coating that now adorns my PS3 slim. I believe it was $16 and some change, good price for this mid range product. If you don't have $35 to go with better quality like skinit, then this is a great mid range option. Beware of the dust this attracts, as well as finger prints, but that really goes without saying.

I just bought a ps3 slim 2 weeks ago. I wanted the original phat ps3, but the gamestop rep said not to bother with a "gamestop refurb," so I got the Black Ops Slim. The original ps3 looks much nicer with the Piano black, whereas the ps3 slim is an ugly duckling. In order to fix the looks, I bought this skin. Once applied, the skin looks great! There is enough of the skin to cover every part of the ps3, even the bottom and most of a controller (comes with 2 controller skins.). It took me about 15 minutes just for the top part because it's the biggest part. Take your time and it will come out really nice. I posted some pictures of mine above.

Absolutely pleased with this product. Applied greatly. Just be patient with placing it on because it’s thin material. Aside from that it’s exactly what I wanted.
