iDesign Steel Self-Draining Kitchen and Bathroom Bar Soap Holder, The Kyoto Collection - 4.25" x 3" x 0.5", Bronze

I read the reviews that said these were small, but when they arrived, I was still surprised with how small the soap dishes were. I bought two. One for the guest quarters bath and one for our kitchen sink. The one for the kitchen sink has not worked out well. The five metal sticks going one way intersect three metal sticks going the other way. Soap accumulates immediately on the top and sides of all these metal sticks. The granite countertop needs attention each time someone uses the soap because water is all over the place. I took the bottom out of another soap dish to place this dish on, but that doesn't help the water problem. These are just more trouble than they are worth. I'd rather just place the soap directly on the granite. I purchased these three weeks ago and they have already gone up more than 10%. I do not think they were worth what I paid for them.

It's a great design and just the right size. But then it started to get discolored by what looked like rust. I went back and read the reviews, and started seeing all the complaints about rust, so I thought, oh well, I should have read the reviews before. However, I then cleaned it off, and found out a few things. First, what looked like rust really wasn't. Everything cleaned right off of both the product and the tile shower shelf. Secondly, the product had some type of plastic coating on it that I think might have been interacting with the soap and causing the discoloration. I used an abrasive pad. It all came off, and I've had no more issues with discoloration.So, now it works great.

Very pretty bronze color. Too decorative to put in a tub or shower, so using it on the vanity counter instead. Also, rough metal in 1 spot could scratch tub surface. No rubber bumpers on bottom, so i’m going to attach some myself. Very heavy—could do some damage to tub/shower or foot if dropped or slid off ledge! Like everything else about it overall, keeping it.

I bought this soap saver to put inside a larger flat-bottom soap dish sitting on the bathroom sink counter. When I received it, I first noticed that the bars that the soap lays on, were not even. Two of the middle ones had 3-5 mm variation in length compared to the outside bars. I thought that it was not a big deal for my application and decided to keep the soap saver. However, after less than a month, the welds started to rust. And this thing was not even in the shower, but near the sink.

Perfect size to dry kitchen sponges on, and better than just resting the sponges on the edge of the sink. Which is actually what I bought it for.I like the bronze colour, as it matches everything in my kitchen, so it was an added bonus that it came in this colour. It's solidly made. The weld spots are strong, and the bars are not hollow (or don't seem to be). I was actually surprised by the weight of it. It seemed like it should weigh much less, for something so small and made of "sticks". The weight also helps keep it from sliding around too much (it still does, but that's more clumsy human error than anything).Well made and for an impulse buy, and I'm actually surprised by how now it seems like "how did I get on without it?"

Let me do the research for you...this is the cheapest, best, brushed stainless (will work for satin nickel too) soap saver that you will find online and probably anywhere. There was a comment from someone having a rusting issue right away...I'm guessing that person is using a VERY caustic cleaning agent - as we have had this product for over a year and the finish looks as good as it did when we bought it. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is...they should have constructed it with a small lip to help prevent the soap from sliding off. You see...in a standard shower...the corner shelf sits at an angle to help drain off any standing water...so if you place this soap saver on it...and then place your soap on the soap saver - it it has the potential to slide off. IHowever, the angle is not that steep and it has only happened once to me...so don't let that deter you from buying this product; I'm just splitting hairs here!

These are such great little soapholders that I had to buy 2 more. We recently redid our bathroom and put niches in the shower, so I bought 2 smaller of these and like them so much that I had to buy 2 more, this time the longer ones. We are also going to redo our main bath, so the shorter ones will be going into that bath, and then they will be the same in both bathrooms. I cannot get over how heavy and sturdy these are!I would definitely recommend these!FYI, I posted the same review on both orders because these are awesome!!

Do not buy this item! I've had these for less than 2 years. While they say they are soap savers they'll destroy your counter tops unless your counters happen to be rust brown. They should say that they only test them with standard soaps (though I don't know they even did that) I have some run of the mill Castile soap, nothing fancy. The soap saver totally corroded and stained the counter as well (see pics) again do not buy this. They need to use stainless steel or another alloy that doesn't oxidize or corrode so easily.

Appearance wise it's got a pretty ~very~ subtle sparkle to it with a nice dark bronze tone colour. It's weighty and feels good quality, so it's perfect for ornamental use. I am using it as it's intended soap dish, though I'm weary of other reviews that warn it can rust. I happen to have Rustoleum, a clear waterproofing spray I use for art (and it can be used on metal too), so I've given it a coat of that to see it it helps. I'm also very particular and I'm likely to dry and clean it after every use, so it may last longer for me.IF it still RUSTS, I'll return to knock this down stars.If your still seeing 4 stars - the Rustoleum is lasting.

Suited my bathroom colour scheme. Nice weight, not light or heavy, and appearance is true to advertised image.

Es muy bonito y de excelente calidad, pero no tiene diseño para detener el jabón, cuando ya está liso se resbala y se cae.

Es muy bonita, la compre más que nada para adornar mi baño (ya que tengo los demás objetos de color bronce a juego, incluido el dispensador de jabón). Como jabonera, resulta poco práctica porque cuando se utiliza el agua y el jabón se cuela por la rejilla. En mi caso simplemente cumple su función.
