It was easy to assemble, you can even adjust height because the stand comes in pieces that screw together. It left one off as it was too tall for where I wanted it and now it's perfect. I did attach the lamp shade that came with it but it was too bright for my liking so I tried another lamp shade and it fits perfect. This has given just the right light off and it is nor so bright.To say the original lampshade is plastic, it did look good. The only downside is where the wire comes out but with the clips that came with it, I have clipped the wire to the stand. This has reduced the wire being exposed. You could use silver tape if you wanted to which would be less visible than the clips. Over all I am happy with my purchase and it looks really nice where I've placed it.

Arrived quickly, simple to put together & stylish. Really superb light, would definitely recommend.The one problem - I ordered the lamp & 3 bulbs as offered together on Amazon - the bulbs were the wrong ones !!! So order your bulbs separately.

On the whole I'm happy with my lamps (I bought 2). Had them a couple of years now and never had a problem. They look nice despite the shade being plastic. They'd look tidier if the cable fed in through the bottom of the stand rather than near the top (which they don't show you in the photo so that's a bit sneaky). But for the price I can't really complain. I like the look of the copper stand, which comes in several sections which you have to screw together.

These are very handy - so cheap, and yet they can provide bright light while protecting your eyes with the excellent uplighter lampshade

Robust enough that it should last well if not treated carelessly.The base is heavy enough to make it very stable.*** Something you should check when assembling ***I noticed that the upright didn't seem as solid as I expected, and found that the externally-threaded tube which passes through the base to receive the bottom of the upright (with its internal thread) had been locked in place with about 2mm too much protruding, this resulted in the thread in the upright bottoming out before it tightened against the base.This made it less solid than it should have been and could eventually lead to it 'fretting' and going wobbly.Simple to fix, but you need either a 19mm offset type ring spanner or socket to loosen the nut under the base (and possibly a pair of bull-nose pliers or 'molegrips' to (carefully) grip the black washer on the top which is also threaded) - adjust the tube so that all but about 1mm of the thread in the upright is used before it tightens against the base.

Purchased this before Christmas 2025, was advised to get an up lighter and fit a daylight (650k) lamp in it to help reduce SAD symptoms.We have used this throughout the UK winter period and it helped our seasonally effected dosorders.

Not the best quality, the shade looks and feels really cheap althought the base and pole are good. The lamp was faulty, I tried changing the bulbs, the fuse and verified power was on at the socket but it didn't work. The cable to the lamp was very thin with limited insulation. On the other hand, the seller was excellent in their customer service. Almost instantaneous refund from the seller. Worth giving it a try if you want a nice looking cheap lamp, but be prepared for what you get.
