I had already written a review since I was happy with the dish at first. It seemed to be of good quality and it is a very pretty color. However, the lid does not stay on because the gasket is the wrong size or too stiff. I have only washed it by hand with warm water and mild soap, and let it air dry.When I emailed Dowan, the manufacturer, to let them know of the issue and to see if they had a quick solution, they responded with a statement that it was sold by Amazon and therefore I needed to contact Amazon to get it resolved. Um, hello, the defect is in the manufacturing, not the selling!!!I will not be purchasing anything from this company ever again. And I highly suggest that you find another butter dish to use.

Same problem others mentioned with lid not staying closed. By accident I found that problem is somewhat alleviated by pressing down on center of lid rather than along edges. It is a very attractive dish and certainly large enough for 3 and maybec4 cubes.

I am in LOVE with this butter dish. It is a beautiful shade of aqua porcelain with a tight-fitting wooden lid & a matching butter knife that fits into the lid! So handy! Keeps the butter fresh & looks beautiful on the table! It’s at least twice the size of a “normal” butter dish which holds one stick of butter- this one holds 2 in width & 4 (or order) in height, making it also perfect for dips or other spreads. The knife is so cute & makes the dish even easier to use it! I LOVE it- very unique! It was also packed very securely & arrived quickly, exactly as advertised!

This is lovely, with a flawless finish and an airtight seal. It holds a LOT, even though it's easily picked up one-handed. Truthfully I would have preferred one a bit smaller but couldn't find this color among the shorter, more narrow containers. This dish was originally going to stay on the table but it holds so much that I'm leaving it on the counter by the stove so I can access it quickly for cooking/baking.The butter knife on the top is both utilitarian and aDORable. I'm a little unsure how the butter knife will hold up, as it feels fairly lightweight, but I'm not too concerned. It wasn't a selling point for me because I didn't expect much from it and didn't need one. Nevertheless, now that I have it I'm sold. If you need an airtight crock that won't require you to constantly change water every couple of days, that holds a full pound (or more if you smushed it in rather than leaving the butter in blocks), and that looks great - this is the one.

The best part thing I like about this butter dish is how premium it looks with this unique color and the wooden lid that fits firmly on top. Tbh, I was just using the plastic butter container until I came across this and realized how good it would look on the dining table since we just re-did our house. And this was a no-brainer for this price since it did not burn a hole in our pocket especially given the fact that how expensive premium kitchenware is nowadays.

When I first saw this product I fell in love with it. But that quickly changed when I received it The knife does not stay in the top where it's supposed to anytime you lift the lid it slides off very easy.the spreader does not spread butter very well at all I end up getting more butter on my hands and I do anything else. The lid does not stay down I have to put a heavy product just to keep the lid closed and it pops off so easy. It is easy to clean and it looks very pretty but it is not practical for my home at all.

The shopping experience was great. The product color and style was exactly what I expected and arrived in a timely manner.The only downside is that the lid with a knife is not very practical. It needs a magnet for the knife and a handle for the lid. I am going to try to retrofit mine with a handle and the knife is unfortunately just left in my utensil drawer.Overall, it is a good product with good quality materials and look. Great for the larger butter chubs.

Looks great but.....1. Wish the knife fit snug into the lid.2. Also. I thought i did my research and measured properly but i didnt. If you buy butter at Costco like we do it does not fit. This dish needs to be taller.3. Rubber gasket on the lid doesn't work properly. Instead of sealing all it does is push the lid up so that the rubber rests on the lip instead of the top of the lid. I removed the rubber

How have I gone this long without a butter dish I’ll never know! I especially like that it’s basically a container and not one of those upside down things you normally see. It’s super heavy and quality built. The spreader adds a level of decadence to my life that I’ve sorely been lacking up until now.

I was happy at first, but few days later the lid always goes up like this so it doesnt keep the butter fresh unfortunately :(

It's really cute but the lid won't stay closed and I'm pretty sure our butter actually went bad because of it, we're only putting half the butter in the container now so I'm hoping it works better this time around! But I really like it all things aside, it's sturdy and well made and the knife is super cute too!

Love the colour! Doesnt hold a whole Canadian size butter but that's not a big deal. Butter knife is a little flimsy but does work well. It is so handy to have a spreader sit on top of the lid. Easy to clean. I am very happy with my purchase.
