2 Pack 26"×22" Brew Bag Reusable Mesh Strainer for Wine Beer Brewing

I bought a 10 gallon Rubbermade Water cooler to mash in (I removed the plastic spigot and replaced it with an 17 dollar stainless steel ball valve bought here at Amazon). The first brew bag I bought for it had the dimensions backwards and was only 26 inches, not 31 inches deep. This bag (31" x 31") is perfect! It easily fits over the large, permanent handles on the water cooler and fits all around to the bottom. I hold it in place with a couple of bungie cords. I can either close the lid with the bag still attached, or draw the line and close the bag and put the entire bag inside the rubbermade water cooler and screw on the large lid. The rubbermade only looses about 1 degree over an entire 1 hour mash. The bag is taking the place of either a bazooka screen or a false bottom. I can do either traditional no sparge (rinse) BIAG and put all the water needed in the cooler, or I can do about 4 gallons of mash water and then about the same rinse water. Grain absorption rate is about 1 quart per 2 lbs of grain. Instead of pulling the bag out to drain, I simply open the ball valve and drain it into my 8 gallon boil kettle. I mash in my kitchen and this set-up is almost mess free. I'm very happy with the results. I've mashed twice now with the new bag and will again this coming Sat. The bag is very easy to clean, only don't put that off for a day or two and let the gunk get stuck to the bag. I clean the bag while the boil kettle is heating up, takes about 5 minutes.

I used one of these bags to filter a burned bread amino sauce and it worked great for the initial filtering process. I wanted something finer than cheese cloth but not so fine as a jelly bag and this fit that space perfectly. I was able to pour the sauce through the filter bag fairly quickly to remove most of the sediment. I did have to run the sauce through a jelly bag to remove additional sediment, but having removed most of it with this filter made that process easier. The bags seem to be sturdy and well made and it cleaned up very easily. They fit snuggly around the rim of a 2 gallon bucket and are about as deep as the bucket.

Works just like it should. Gets all the sediment out of the wash.

solid item holds mash well and easy enough to clean sending it through the washer after a good soak. one thing is the plastic draw could hold better

Exactly as advertised. These are being used to encased mason bee houses to protect them from mono wasps & houdini flies after the bees completed their pollinating and egg laying. Way cheaper than ordering from a "mason bee supplier".

Saved me so much work! These mesh bags let juice flow through easily and all you have left is pulp without a lot of physical strain. I will be ordering more!

These are great. May be the last brew bags I buy. I have used them a lot and still look new. Easy to clean and dry quickly for storage.

Have used this in my Grainfather a few times now - easier to clean, much preferred over using the pipe system which i find finicky.

These are absolutely massive!!! I purchased them for straining my homemade Greek yogurt. They are too big for a 1 gallon batch. If this is your intended purpose, too, be sure to buy a smaller size! Your whey will also be quite cloudy - the material is not fine enough to contain all the curds. If you’re not picky about clear whey and can find the smaller size, these would be perfect, as they are MUCH easier to wash than the canvas/cloth yogurt bags out there.

Within 10 mins of light use of the bag it developed several approximately toonie sized holes. Even when you remove it from the packaging you can feel the quality is substandard. Go to your own local brew shop if possible and get something of much better quality for the same or less.

I used this bag when harvesting honey. It separated the honey from the wax perfectly.
