VPG 40550 Top Dressing for Soils and Plants, 40-Pound

I'm pleased with the product that I've used as grass seed soil , seems the birds left the soil alone and hopefully my seeds will be unmolested… very expensive but works great for repair emergencies on my lawn

The is very fine-type top dressing (NOT topsoil), very easy to handle, just what I was after to top off a planting bed. A plus == our resident chipmunks seemed to love too!

Used this as a top dressing for a young, newly planted conifer when transplanted last fall, applied pretty heavily as a mulch. Now March, and while all surounding lawn is brown from winter and road salt, grass around the conifer is beautiful and green and the Norway Spruce is deep green, unlike sickly yellow-green typical of this time of year in NE Ohio. The product surprised me that it is pellet/bead-like, not soft and loose. Actually sent second of two bags back when I didn't like the looks of the first bag when opened. Quite expensive and the bag is very heavy. Shipping box did not contain it, but now that I see the results, will buy again when I can afford it.
