10240 Star Wars Red Five X-Wing Starfighter Building Set

LEGO's ulimate collector series sets are well worth the money for adults or older children. The design and mechanics that go into these large sets make them fun to build and the finished product is definitely display worthy. Judging by past Star Wars UCS on eBay, you will probably get your money back if you choose to sell it and who knows you just might make some. I purchased this as a Christmas present for my son and he loved it. It was a great addition to his Star Wars Lego collection. My son already built it after a few weeks and loved it. He thought it to be excellent and a lot of fun. Thank you so much. I will definitely order more LEGO online in future. It was very fun to build and has very detailed instructions. The only problem I had with it is when you put it on the display stand, it tends to lean back quite a bit. I had to stick a pen cap into the stand to get it to display the way it wanted it to. I would recommend this to anyone who is a Star Wars fan and anyone who enjoys to build legos.Good set and decent price. Definitely a collectors item in the future. I look forward to its value appreciating very soon!

I still cannot believe I found this particular model on Amazon at MSRP, when every other retailer is asking for ridiculously inflated prices. I've always wanted an X-wing model, since I first watched the original Star Wars movie, but was never able to find a faithful replica until now. The model itself is what you would expect from Lego, especially being from the "Ultimate Collector Series". I love building things and this model is by far, one of the easier projects I've undertaken, but there is still a degree of difficulty involved and requires plenty of attention to detail. The finished model is the most rewarding part of the build, if you're a fan of the Star Wars franchise. It looks phenomenal as a static display, especially with the included display stand. Now, if only Lego can make a UCS version of Poe's X-wing Star Fighter.

Love this product. Grew up with LEGO star wars sets as a kid, but could never afford this one. Now that I'm older i decided to buy what I had always wanted as a kid. Totally worth it, building it was a blast into nostalgia. The set is quite large as well, with about 10 different parts to the ship...each part taking 30 min - 1 hour depending on your speed. So you can get a couple fun sessions out of it or just go all out and take a day to build it. The finished product is surprisingly large and looks very impressive. I finished it just a few days ago and already almost want to take it apart to rebuild it again. I wouldn't recommend for young children, but mature kids could easily have a blast with this. Or if you friend/loved one is/was just simply a LEGO and Star Wars fan but is a bit older, i wouldn't hesitate; they will love this! MY only minor complaint is that several features require stickers. Most are pretty simple to put on, but the windshield sticks are quite tedious to put on perfectly. Luckily, they give you 2 sheets in case you mess up (i did...twice :( ). If you are buying this for a younger child, i'd definitely recommend helping them with the stickers. If you're older and putting it together id just say to very much take your time. It'll be worth it when the finished product looks so nice. Just wish a set with this price would have printed to features directly on the pieces but that's my only minor complaint. Don't let it stop you though, this set is amazing!

Bought it for a 15 year old. He loved so much that he assembled it in one night.

I got 4 StarWars Legos at the same time (Death Star, Imperial Shuttle, Millennium Falcon and this one) and I can almost say this is one of my favourites. Since its a collectors edition, it's meant for display, but could also be played with.. there are too many great details and accuracy. I would totally recommend this for a Lego StarWars fan. The assembling was by far the easiest since the bags are numbered and there is only one bag per # (except #4 that has 2 bags). This means you don't need too much room for building it since you go little by little. Too bad it doesn't come with any figures (I guess it is because its not for a Lego figure scale)

This Lego is epic! It's the T-65 X-Wing fighter Red 5 that destroyed the Death Star! I had to pay $262.00 but what can I say I am a fan at 50. Now I see the price has gone up even more. My grandson who is now 7 got me into the Lego's. We have great conversations about them. We can talk some Lego's for sure all day. I often buy one then order him one. The big ones not so much. But I did send him the Millenium Falcon at $119.00 that is a good deal. It will be nice to pass all my sets to him one day. :).

Everything showed up in good condition and fit together well. Fun LEGO set to build.

This is the first Lego I've owned/used since I was about 12 and now I'm in my early 40s. Let me tell you, you don't lose it, one you learn to stick one piece to another, that's something you keep for life. I had such a blast making this model, a few false starts here and there, but that was cool. I just really enjoyed myself and it reminded me of a simpler life I suppose, I built it over several very content evenings, a nice beer helped matters, an inquisitive cat meant I nearly lost most of a turbo blaster as he was intent on swiping pieces off the table while I was attending the call of nature... maybe the beer wasn't a great idea after all. ladies, if you are thinking of buying this for the man in your life then do not hesitate, he will be a very happy chappie I assure you.... Gents, if you really want this... do not hesitate buying it for your lady friend, she will be far too bemused to be upset and you can make it together and its nice to share... 10 out 10 folks, although I do fear for where this may go..... Millennium Falcon, Tie Fighter..... death star..
