Perfect hub, beautifuuly designed
Itโs nice to give a review for product that actually turns out to be exactly as it promises. This Atolla USB hub is exactly what I was looking for. I have several devices, including a microphone headset and several external backup drives. Once the headset is plugged in it overrides the computer speakers. Many times when I forget to unplug it I end up fiddling with the speakers, until sanity takes its course and I realize what the problem is. Youโd think I would learn after several times, but well weโre only human. As for the external drives, if I soft-boot or reboot my computer, the computer will read the external drives as if they are the internal drive and not re-boot. Therefore you have to remember to disconnect the two external drives every time you want to reboot. That was a pain as well. And I actually did need some additional USB ports for other uses, having used up the ports on the computer. So I was delighted to see that not only does this have four ports and is designed to sit nicely on your desk next to your computer, but that each port has a switch next to it, so that you can turn it off and on even when it is still connected. Cooler still, when pressed, a blue LED lights up. This way of course I can keep all of these devices plugged in and simply hit the switch. It works perfectly, and is beautifully constructed and looks great. By the way, it also has another port on the side, specifically for charging. Itโs a nice addition, though the other ports will charge devices as well. Iโm not a big tech nerd, but I believe the difference is that the charge port may have a power limiter or fuse. Something honestly that is truly not a problem, unless youโre using the port to charge a power tool or a Toyota Echo! Nice to get something, as I said that meets if not exceeds expectations.

Designed carefully to accommodate needs.
This usb hub is compact and very nice. I like the fact that the cord is attached on the shorter side because it allows me to place it right next to my laptop where my desk is very crowded. Iโve seen those that have cord coming out on the longer side, and I assume it takes up more space than itโs actual size. Anyhow, itโs been working great for the past 5months, and I like the idea of on/off feature on each port because I donโt have to pull it out completely just to turn it off where Iโm going to use it very soon again anyways. I believe pulling it out does some wear on the hardware of the usb. Itโs small enough and lightweight. Also, the ports are parallel to each other and not lined up in a series and I think itโs definitely a plus in a practical way because if the usbs were wider in its body size, they would be competing for space (even though there are more than one port youโd have to skip one or something) if the ports were lined up. Thatโs not a concern with this hub. Lastly, the charging port is fancy and I can just connect it for charging without worrying about it being actually connected to my computer. So far, itโs been great in doing what itโs supposed to do and Iโm satisfied with it. I have not found a major fault in it so far. Would recommend to my friends and family.

Awesome splitter/hub
Seems well built. I'm supporting two Thrustmaster MFD I/O devices for my game (Falcon BMS) off of this hub/splitter and it works great. Also have an HP Desk Jet printer hanging off of this too, and all three items work fine. I like the lights combined with the ability to selectively put each port 'on" or 'off". It's not a plug-it-in-and-all-ports-are-stuck-"on" thing. You can decide to turn on/off individual ports. I imagine this would help for power and data signal flow. Cord length is sufficient. I wasn't planning on running it far from the back of my computer anyway, so cord length is not an issue for me. If anything, since I wanted to leave it on the back of my computer (the other devices' cords themselves reach the computer, I only wanted more ports) the long cord is actually a small annoyance to me ( I had to accordion fold the cord and zip tie it to make neat cable management). I would prefer if they market two versions of this device - a stubby cord a few inches long and a long cord say 6-8 feet - and let us choose which. But I'm just nitpicking here, this product is awesome and is 3.0 standard (or at least it's colored blue, I have to trust, I have no special equipment to test it). Great device, I recommend.

Works well
It works pretty well; haven't put any serious demand on it so far, with multiple devices. It took a few few tries to get the individual ports to power off, you have to hold the power button longer than you think. Naturally, turning it back on, it comes on instantly. I guess that's not too unreasonable, since I've experienced issues with power buttons that were too sensitive and would turn off if you brushed passed them; so it's not a bad idea to make it so, if you're going to turn these ports off, it has to be intentional. It's not great for phone charging. I imagine it might be better if it came with a power supply and the hub itself was plugged in. I'm not sure why it doesn't come with one, since it does have a DC adapter port. But it is connected to a USB 3 port, which I had hoped would have made some difference for charging speed. The charging ability is a little disappointing, especially since it even has a designated charging port on the end, that port still doesn't put out much juice to charge a phone very well.

Great device - no DC adapter...(revised)
8/7/2016-------------As mentioned, updated. Looks like the vendor has changed their marketing around a bit, and you can now both see that one version doesn't come with a power cable, one does, and you can even buy the power cable separately. Well done! The prices for all seem fine (though maybe the power cable is a bit steep in price, but, it's not absolutely necessary for most uses...) and I've now had the hub for over a year and it works great! The fact that they made their product's capabilties a bit easier to understand says a lot for the company as well.Old review follows - and, adding in the other star, as promised. :)___________________________________________________________(Original review)Great little device - however, I did go looking for the power adapter and.. well, there isn't one. Since they do kind of emphasize in the second picture that it sure seems like there's a power adapter, I kinda wish they'd point out that there isn't one actually in the packaging. However, the product that does get shipped is excellent and have no issues with it. If they were to perhaps NOT emphasize that picture pointing out the charging capabilities, I would probably bump it up to a 5 star rating. As it is, I'm a bit unsure if the port on the end (red: charging) will actually work without the adapter.

Solid performance, and a good value.
I use my laptop computer as my desktop when I'm at home. I generally have some USB headphones, a USB external SSD drive, and (Always) a USB Wi-Fi dongle, which I use at home, but do not go with me when I travel. This hub makes this easy by creating a single connection to unplug when it's time to leave, and everything is waiting for me when I return home. I love the individual power buttons, because I can turn off a device I'm not using, without unplugging it, which saves wear and tear on my USB connections. For example, I only turn on my SSD drive once a week, to back up my data files, then I turn it off again. Should I get hacked, that copy of my files can't be "ransomed" or accessed. After having mine for about 6 months, I bought a second one for my wife, and we are both very happy with them. If I HAD to name a negative issue, it's that the blue LEDs that illuminate the sockets when turned on, are bright. Since both hubs are in my bedroom, the whole room has a blue glow at night.

PURCHASED 2 IN EARLY 2016 - BOTH ON UNITS USED 24/7 WITHOUT FAILURE - NO ISSUES as of 2025
UPDATE (10-13-2025) STILL IN USE WITH 3 DRIVES - SCANNER - AND CHARGING iPHONE...NOT ONE ISSUE AND HAVE RANDOMLY UNPLUGGED AND THEN RE-PLUGGED. - Would buy more if I needed them- - -purchased early 2016 - flawless...Dependability is key... especially if HDD's or SDD's are connected for access or BU... Updating one system now and will continue to use on the new unit as both have worked flawlessly, so no reason to change. I have a number of systems and these hubs have been indispensable because they are essential invisible (meaning no problems or concerns) ...I did notice on one that a wireless mouse was erratic when used in conjunction with a couple of HDD's and a wireless keyboard on the same hub... so there might be that to consider depending on your setup

Slick Multi-USB Device
This is my second device. Both work as described. I do wish cable was a little more flexible and the main cord is a foot or so longer. Or, provide an optional cable extension (Female and then Male) of 1-2 feet. I'm using the second device to play any variety of my music I have placed on USB thumb drives through my TVs soundbar.. My collection of music spans 50 years. Original, scratchy Beach Boys, Bobby Vinton, Pet Clark I converted to mp3 files thru Huey, Pink Floyd and then CDs. Maybe 200G+. Because this unit allows turning on/off slots, I can take a thumb drive offline and replace it with another and its ready. I use my primary device for picture projects, for connecting my two back-up Tbyte hard drives and peripheral equipment. Very versatile. I'd say buy if you only want to commit 5 slots at a time. You can always piggy-back them later too.

Perfect for transferring data from iPhone to hard drive
Only product I could find that actually worked to transfer my photos straight from my iPhone to my hard drive! If thatโs what you need then this is great!

fantastic
this hub works exactly as expected, no issues at all, and also get illuminated by nice blue lightyou can't go wrong with this one, the only sad bit, of course, is they did not supply the power adapter, it works but it would have been a nice gesture.

Good quality
I have used this company product and the quality is good.I had requested a return as I no longer needed it. However I have changed my mind but have no way of informing the seller of this, therefore am writing this review, hoping they will receive my message and charge the price for it.
