Ace the IELTS: IELTS General Module - How to Maximize Your Score (3rd edition)

I brought this book couple of weeks back to get prepared for IELTS. Even though I am yet to sit for IELTS but I should mention couple of good things I felt so far- I am a computer engineer by profession and working with multi-national companies since last 11 years so I thought I have a decent knowledge in English and I should be okay to sit for IELTS. The very moment I have started digging about this exam my confidence level gone down significantly. Lots of scary stuff written all over the place and I felt like it’s easier to go to space than sit for this. Then I started searching for books in Amazon, Initially was skeptical to buy this book. Then I thought its only $20 let’s take a chance. But thanks to my instinct. The moment I started reading first 3-4 pages I got back my confidence level. I really liked the well laid out process presented here. I don’t know how much I will score in actual exam but I got my confidence back for just $20. Not a bad deal.- I am a process oriented person; to me this book is right fit. Rather than going all over the place at the same time this book gives you a direction and a process to follow. After reading few pages you will get to know what exactly has to be done to get target band 7 and how will do it. I personally liked it.- Last but not the least I should mention about the writer. I must appreciate her attitude towards this book. I know there is no shortcut for this exam, rather not in any exam like this. But at the same time the guidance you will take is very important. After following a book or a teacher for a purpose, most of us start inheriting the attitude of the guide and I think that is very important. Positive attitude leads to success and negative one misleads you. I think, she maintained a very positive attitude throughout the book. She mentioned the difficulties for various section at the same time she also pointed out the right way to overcome it

I have too many problems with myself and How am I going to do the test? I have to do the IELTS exam for migration purpose. I felt that I wouldn't definitely achieve it. I've got daily email from the blog till one day I was recommended this book by Simone; the blog's owner. This book is really suited me, the one who have never been to any IELTS preparation course. This book does really help me. It's all about the tips to do the test which is useful and helpful. It's the best IELTS preparation book that I've ever seen. I recommend this book to u guys who is going to do the IELTS and has no material to prepare yourself.Nevertheless, I've to say thanks to Simone for recommended me this helpful IELTS book!! I'd never past it without your best recommended :-)

if you are preparing to ielts. only this book is required.I did ielts exam only using this book. to be honest some test of this book is harder than real exam. the tips of Simone is the most important to you pass in exam. because the candidate must learn how ielts exam is. And use all tips of simone to each part: listening,reading, speaking and writing, it will do you feel more confidence during the exam. I used each one during my test and I did not have any problem with time. Of course, only read the tips is not sufficient, but put it in practice day-by-day is essential.for me it was the best book to ielts. One important point, the book is very simple. you can thinkg in first moment that there are not nothing to learn, but you are wrong. the book is vert rich in important information to ielts, read each tip several times and have each one in your mind, like this during the exam you will remember.thanks.

I purchased this book for someone. Below is that person's review:Someone purchased "Ace the IELTS” for me to prepare for the exam. This book is well-organized and even has a study plan for 21 days to guide you throughout the preparation. I loved practicing with this easy to follow study guide! I emailed the author immediately to ask for a digital “Practice tests set 4” book, as was kindly offered in “Ace the IELTS” and Simone Braverman did send me the book. I was over the moon to have had even more practice tests right before I sat the IELTS. If your level of English is good enough, these books are just what you need to warm up before the test.

I was hopping much more helpful information about this book. You can resume the entire book in literally 3 pages, the author is guiding you all the time to do your own research in the internet and practice there, so whats the point of having a book when you can consult all the information in his blog or in the IELTS forums. Half of the book is information about essential information about the IELTS that you find in the official IELTS website and the other are minor tricks, tips and poor techniques for you to master the IELTS but I really doubt it, with such mediocre information that has been written there. As an advice do not purchase this item is a fraud. What can you expect from a book that is telling you to search what you need in the internet.

Esperava mais do livro, embora seja bom. Muitas informações e dicas contidas no livro são facilmente encontradas na internet. Mas mesmo assim recomento.

A very clear concise book. It is well laid out and has a lot of useful tips and practice exercises. I bought it a week ago and have been using it since the first day it arrived. Very useful for preparing students for the IELTS General Training exam.

Consigliatissimo per chi ha poco tempo per prepararsi e già un discreto livello di Inglese. Da' ottimi consigli, fa esempi pratici e se tenete a mente le dritte che vi da Simone sarete molto avvantaggiati.
