This is a great chisel that is heavy duty and feels great in the hand. It has a good weight to it, which makes me feel as though this should last a long time. I have used it to create holes in the hard clay soil for my solar light stems. I have used it with a hammer and it has held up well. I haven't missed striking the center, but the hand guard gives me confidence when I'm striking down with a hammer. I can't wait to use this on other projects. The price is reasonable. The tip is nice and sharp. I like the size because I can store this in a small gardening bucket along with my other trowels and gardening hand tools.

This chisel is big and heavy right off the bat, I originally used a big rubber mallet to hit this chisel, but now I have turned to a small stocky Masonry hammer. Works great!!

I needed a good chisel to help split out a large tree root that was sticking up out of the ground about 6 inches and about 8ft long. The wood was really hard and between my small chain saw and the chisel I was able to get the root out without having to call a tree trimmer outfit. Large screw drivers and other type wedges would not work. I beat it up pretty good with a heavy 3lb hammer and not once hit my hand because of he guard on the top. Excellent tool for multiple jobs.

I think my issue with this was more user-error. I needed to break a thick geode and I think the grip was fine. The geode did eventually crack, but it took some effort. The chisel was a little damaged, but it seems to still be functional.

I bought this for the purpose of cleaning up some areas of a long concrete walkway we had poured. It worked great. Heavy duty!

How could you demo a house without one i like how it was made

This is a great overall tool. Most of the other hand chisel I looked at had poor reviews about the hand guard on them. This hand guard works great and feels great. It will moved down some if you miss it and hit the hand guard but comes right back and works like a champ. I've been using this for awhile and no problem works great. Great Tool and Great Seller. PS. The one I received did have a chemical smell. To me it wasn't that bad but everyone is different and your experience will vary. BUT the seller reached out to me and asked me if it smelled and when I said yes. I was given a full refund without asking. I do believe the smell probably happened sometime after the seller shipped the product based and the other reviews not saying anything, so the smell is probably just a temp thing.

had to chisel some concrete around a drain pipe whose opening was flush with the ground to get a cap over it. did not hit my hand once lol! the tip did not get damaged so it's not a cheap imitation tool.

I was disappointed that there was a small chip out of the edge of the chisel, but considering I'm going to be breaking rocks with it I'm not too concerned. I just hope that it's not an indication that the casting was defective.
