Type-III Universal Gun Cleaning Kit with 100pc 6 Inch Tapered and Regular Tip Cotton Swabs and Black Double Sided Nylon Brush

I acquired a Martini Henry Mark II that'd been sitting in storage for circa 140 years. It was NASTY and I needed some stuff to clean up the grease and other unknown crud. This in conjunction with some other cleaning solvents and such got this as close to her former glory without messing up the patina and the historical value.These do sometimes break and do sometimes come apart but it's not easy. If you soak it in stuff stronger than acetone; odds are it could fall apart. I used stuff as strong as that but not stronger and these were good for scrubbing crevices and such to get it clean.The brush was a pain to get clean when gunky but this is a good deal and after cleaning all the gunk and rust, I've still got swabs left.Love these! Breaking one in half works well to use as a pick to clear out screw heads.

In response to the reviewer who said these things fall apart right away... they don't... I purchased two separate orders of the regular / tapered double end swabs. Every swab in both of the packages was very tightly wound (even the tapered tiped ones) and all of the wooden shafts were very stout / sturdy.I counted every single swab and separated them into 20 swab groups (for various cleaning kits). As an added bonus, in one of the 100 count packs, I received 3 extra swabs. In the other pack, I received 2 extra swabs. I primarily use them for spreading Slip 2000 EWG grease on barrels and slide rails directly from the jar. I save the used / dirty ones to use as kindling for future campfires.I also liked the brushes that I received. Although you cannot tell from the picture, the large brush ends curve backward, which helps with the ergonomics when cleaning firearms.As far as I'm concerned, this is a quality, American made product. Reading some of the negative reviews on Amazon tends to make me wonder whether or not some of these people have alternative, hidden motives when it comes to some of the things that they write.... as if they work for competing products (especially when all the surrounding reviews are positive).

Use these to clean metal parts before putting back together so I can move all of the old oil and grease. I continue to break these, but they do get the job done.I wish the wood was a bit stronger to allow for more pressure getting inside the parts

Nice brush and the swabs are exactly what I needed. The swabs are a perfect fit for getting in all of those hard to reach places and cleaning every nook and cranny of your gun. The swabs in this pack are just the tinniest hair shorter than the lot I got without the brush and the wood seems just the tinniest bit thinner but I think it's more the batch of wood than it is any real difference between the products. These work great. I stocked up on them because I'm sure I'll be using a truckload and don't want to be caught without them. These work great on the gas tube as well. They hold together well - even with abuse I've only seen them hint at coming apart. I've had no issues with them leaving threads around. The wood handles are reasonably strong/flexible, but I do break one here or there - not an issue though as they work well enough to get the job done.

These are great. Very sturdy and well made. Great product for the price.The brush is nice too. Just buy them. They’re q-tips.

Does the job, holds up

In my opinion this is a necessity for any gun owners cleaning kit. The tips don't leave any fuzzy pieces behind when you are cleaning your weapons. We tried regular cotton swabs because that was what we had on hand and they left fuzz in all the wrong places. These swabs get into those hard to reach spots where residue and gunk can hide and cause problems down the road. I strongly recommend these. Of course they have many other uses as well. I will be ordering more soon. The seller also shipped my item promptly and it was received within days of my order being processed!!
