Short version: Do not waste your money and time with this mini cam. Longer version:First, I opened the Amazon box and found the white box inside. It's sealed with two clear circular tape stickers which had clearly been peeled up and re-stuck down. They were curling off with dust on the sticky part, so the box had been plainly opened before I received it.The instruction book includes two QR codes to download the MicroShare app from either Google Play for Android or App Store for iPhone. I have a Pixel 3 so I scanned the Android code, which opens Google Play...and tells me the app does not exist. Next I tried searching MicroShare and get a bunch of results. Tap the "MicroShare" app developer and find over ten apps by them. Every one of them has different reviews (rarely over 3.5), but pretty much the same screenshots of the same UI. The LugWay app appears to be the newest. This app looks nothing like the app shown in the screenshots, in the booklet, or the how-to video on YouTube that the seller (eFF) is responding to questions with. That video was posted on July 9th, less than ten days ago.Still, followed the instructions as best I could: Plugged in and charged, turned on, waited 6 sec for bootup, observed blue lights, held reset pinhole with included tool for 5 seconds, observed device reboot, connected to BMC wireless network on-cam, opened app, did wifi search, device found (yay!), but then will not let me proceed without a username and password. Username defaults to "admin" and password should be...what exactly? Can't proceed with blank, but setting something lets me continue... Ok, cam appears in list. But tapping it does nothing. Clicking the gear says cam is not connected so you can't access settings. You can't even delete it from the list. You have to clear the app's storage completely and effectively reset the app to freshly downloaded.Tried some of the other apps by MicroShare. The others warn that the app was made for an older version of Android, but otherwise looks and functions identically in every respect I can discern.Did some additional research online and apparently this is a VERY common problem with people who have purchased this mini cam.It made me wonder why the reviews are so high? So I looked at many of the five-star reviews. Many of these reviews don't even appear to be for this product. Many of them are talking about replacement camera batteries, or other electronic products, not this mini cam. So I suspect some Amazon listing chicanery at play here to boost the ratings. Perhaps this listing was once for a different product and then changed to be this mini cam. I don't know for certain.What I DO know is this mini cam is useless without the mobile app working, and they simply can't get their act straight to CLEARLY provide a single app for Android that works as documented, the first time, and every time. This WILL be a waste of your time, money, sanity, and patience.I've already begun the return process with Amazon.

This device is essentially a cheap go pro, it's not a security camera at all. A security camera has a longer battery life than 2 and a half hours, at the very least it should have about 6 to 8 hours to be called a security camera and they could fix it with proper software but don't. Now what i mean by bad software is this camera does have motion detection but the camera is always on so the motion detection does not save any battery life so yet again it's useless. The whole point of motion detection is for your camera to be off to save battery and memory on the sd so that when the motion detection picks something up the camera turns on instead of the camera always being on like this one. Now either this camera should have better software or a bigger battery which would make the camera a little bigger but oh well because this isn't a security camera as of right now. I should get a refund honestly because this camera is completely a waste of money unless for some reason you want to use a bulky battery bank which eliminates the entire reason for getting a small camera.

The camera is fine, the video quality is great but I'm unable to connect to it on the app. Every time I configure the camera to my wifi it gets to 94 percent and then fails. The camera is of nice quality but the apps are all lacking. I'm unable to even use the product. I've tried to use it offline by putting an SD card in but when I try to view the video on my computer it doesn't work. It's apparently recording but when I try to view it using different kinds of media players it doesn't work and shows the video being 0 seconds long

If you plan on using this for daytime use it does have acceptable video and picture quality in the day. In the dark or low light, not so much. Sound not very good either. I give 2 stars for daytime video only all else would be lower than this.

Highly disappointed. Instruction booklet did not match the model of camera. The instructions pointed the user to install an Android App from Google Play Store named: Microshare. Well, there are many different apps named this and the instruction booklet pictures did not match any app I installed. Very confused. Item would not connect to wifi. Was also charged $4 at the UPS Store to send the unit back for refund since there was no QCode to scan for free refund. Rediculous.

Well… Considering the seller has a number of 5 star reviews related to other products (a scam that is becoming more and more prevalent among Amazon sellers :(), I was dubious that this item would work. But much to my surprise, I had it set up in about 10 seconds, and it works exactly as described. As you can see from the 2nd photograph, the image is a little bit… shall we say… “purple“, but it serves my purpose as a nanny cam perfectly. As you can tell from the 1st photograph, it is barely visible to anyone in the room who doesn’t know it’s there.

Best mini camera I’ve found.
