This thing is great. I got it and immediately tried it. I put it in the back of my Tacoma and put 2 dogs (85 and 45 lbs) back there. It's perfect for them. The canopy is sturdy and made of quality materials. Good seams and straps. I used it on the highway with zero issues or budge. The dogs were happy and had a nice shady place to lay. We went through a storm and it kept them dry. I'm very impressed and happy with this purchase. To fold it down you have to pretty much take it all apart, so be prepared for that if you want to store it somewhere flat. It's easy to set up/take apart, though. If you are co sidering it, take it. This might even work to keep luggage or bags dry if showers threaten. We'll see.

We have two fairly large dogs, so we purchased two of these for my Ram 2500. If you are like me and do not like the look of a cap, or maybe can't afford one, then this is the perfect solution. When I examined the parts prior to assembly, I was impressed with the quality of the materials. The grey fabric is very tough and it reflects the sunlight rays away rather than absorb it. (I looked at another truck bed canopy, from a different supplier, and it was black which would absorbs the sunlight and make it hot for the dogs! Hello?! Does this make sense?! Not to mention is was more expensive and not portable like this one.) The mesh is great and not only provides great ventilation (obviously), but also it also semi blocks the sunlight and provides a bit of shade as well. I could tell that they used a quality and durable pad, which is covered by the same tough, sunlight reflecting gray fabric as the roof. It feels like a thick yoga mat inside. I also liked that the tent poles that support the roof can slide out and be replaced if they break. The instructions are very easy to read and follow. It is a great design and very simple to assemble. It took me only 10 minutes! The metal tubing gives it a very strong stucture. I pre-fit them in the truck and I was very satisfied. They cinch down very tightly and were very secure. The next test will be to see if they withstand highway speeds on our 8 hour drive to go camping. Another review stated that they do. This plus knowing how strong and secure they were in the truck, I have no doubt that they will. Having said this, I will be sure to post an update to let you know my own experience. So far this is an amazing product and I would 100% recommend it. I also want to mention that they have excellent customer service. Unfortunately, and by no fault of theirs, the box had a small hole on one of the corners, and the dog leash/teather was missing. I emailed them about it on a Sunday, and first thing Monday morning, they emailed me back to apologize and let me know that they already shipped a replacement. Wow!!! As a side note, this is a very affordable solution to giving your dog(s) NEEDED shade while traveling. DO NOT let your dog(s) suffer in the hot sun! I had no idea this product was out there, but now that I do and now that I own it, I will be spreading the word. Especially if I see a dog panting in the back of a truck without any shade you jerk!

This is a terrific pet shelter for a dog on a long trip. We took our dog in our truck on a trip through the desert in the fall. The shade was much nicer for him than just being in the sun all day while driving. The padding under his feet helped, too. My only complaints are that one of the hooks that goes under the lip of the truck bed was sewn in backwards so the strap had to be twisted to get it to fit. Then, during the trip, one of the hooks (a different one) came off the strap. I had to put it back on and tie a knot in the strap to get it to work. It now functions, but it isn't pretty and probably won't hold forever. Despite these problems, it is still a wonderful addition to traveling with our dog.

These things are amazing! I used my first one for years without any issues; in fact, they're so great that someone stole it from the bed of my truck! I ordered a second one because my dogs love riding in the bed of the truck, but Texas is just too hot to have their poor paws back there. Good padding, built to last, and after a long day of swimming, my pups can relax in the shade. I always soak it with a hose right before I load them up to go. Works really well with a side to side tether on their harnesses. 5000 stars, will purchase another when it’s time!

It was easy to assemble. It did the job I wanted which was to give some shade for those Hot Cali days. I wasn't sure how it would hold up on the freeway but it was perfect. My doggie Rizzo was able to lay down & avoid all the wind in his face. Kept him from direct sunlight but still able to skope out the environment. The straps held well & there was no flapping noise. The fit was perfect for my Ram Truck. My only negative thought would be the screws. For me I purchased this one because it was lught weight and the easy take off & on. Which it is but not quick. You have to unscrew the frame in order to fold it back up. The screws seem that after a few times of screwing & unscrewing they will strip. Im working on finding the right alternative replacement for the screws. Otherwise it's a solid shade area with enough room for a large breed. I also have a 95lb german shepherd & she fits with comfort under it. With both of them it does get a lil snugged in it.

It took awhile to finally pull this out of the box which was completely sealed. One rail is missing a set screw. I put it together anyway, hopefully it will stay structurally strong enough without it. I realize I'm way past any warranty. Other than that it seems like a good product.

This canopy worked better than expected. I've only used it one but it was a 270 trip from Arizona to California. Being the first time my Siberian Husky has ever ridden on the back of my F150 I was a bit nervous hitting the road knowing I would be traveling at 70 mph but after a few miles she laid down and had a great safe trip. The construction quality is fantastic. The canopy was easy to install and extremely sturdy during the entire trip. The patting is more than sufficient and the quality extremely durable. My only suggestion would be to make the harness holding the dog a little bit more adjustable in length. I had it as short as possible by my dog was still able to pop her head above the canopy top. But all things being equal not a major issue. Highly recommend the product.
