I have always been skeptical of keyless entries, but after locking myself out of my house several times in the last couple of months, well, I decided I needed to do something!! One of the things I love most is the ability to lock and unlock remotely using the U-Home app, hey, I'm getting older and need all the help I can get. I can easily share access with family, friends, or service people by sending them a unique eKey or access code, which is perfect when I’m not home. You can also set time-limited access for added security, so no more worrying about who has access when. It’s super easy to manage up to 50 codes and view the lock history in real-time. The notifications I receive through the app when the lock is accessed are very reassuring. Yeah, no one can get in my house now without me knowing!! This lock integrates seamlessly with other smart home systems like Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings, which makes automation super easy. For example, I’ve set up an automation where my lights turn on automatically when I unlock the door—such a convenient feature and nice when it's super dark outside! The auto-lock and auto-unlock functions are fantastic as well. The door sensor ensures that the door locks itself if I forget to do so, and it automatically unlocks when I approach with my smartphone in my pocket. I love that I get an alert if the door is left open. (cough cough, my children) In terms of battery life, I’m impressed that it lasts for up to 10 months with 8 AA batteries. It’s also IP65-rated, which means it can handle dust and weather conditions, making it a great option for both indoor and outdoor use. The lock itself is built to last with ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 certification, meaning it’s highly secure and durable. Lastly, the installation was incredibly easy, which I need as I'm not exactly the most intelligent person in the world. I was able to replace my existing deadbolt in just 10 minutes using a screwdriver—no wiring required! It’s incredibly secure, versatile, and easy to use. I’ve been really happy with this smart lock. After checking out a bunch of keyless options, I chose this one, and it’s been great. It’s been working perfectly for 2 years now, and I’m even thinking about upgrading to the NFC version. In all that time, I’ve only changed the batteries once — probably because I mostly use the physical keys. Setup and installation were super easy, and I just updated the firmware without any issues. Some people mention that Auto Unlock triggers when you walk nearby, and that it auto‑locks after a few seconds. Both features can be turned off in the settings, so it’s not a problem. The app is simple too: pick the lock, tap unlock, done. I also bought the black handle, and it looks great with the lock.

The lock was easy to install into the holes for the original lock. The issue was connecting the downloaded app to the lock and programming it. At first it did all kind of strange things. It clicked as if locking and unlocking, refused to connect to the app, and didn't respond efforts to enter codes following the instructions for doing it as a stand alone. I would enter a code and when tried outside, the lock would unlock with any numbers entered. Even tried resetting a few times to no avail. After a couple of hours, I contacted the company and they responded quickly with a number of suggestions. I kept working with it and finally the app indicated the lock had connected. Setting it up from There was pretty straight forward. Once codes were entered, it seemed to work properly. It I nice to be able to open thr door without bothering with a key each time. It has a lot of features that are nice to have. I was impressed with the company, they appeared genuinely ready to help and to resolve the issues. I like the lock, and marked it down one star due to issues I experienced programming it. Also, the instructions were not as clear as they should be.

If you're having issues with your lock don't immediately get angry or return it or write off the company. Reach out to their customer service! Even if it's been months since you purchased it. All of their products come with warranties varying from 6 months to multiple years. You can find out what kind of warranty and how long you have by going to their website. Our lock was almost a year old and the gear mechanism inside that turns the deadbolt, stopped engaging with the deadbolt gear. So the lock just would not lock on its own no matter what I tried. I thought I was SOL and had to buy a new lock because it had been more than 60 days since I purchased it from Amazon. But I decided to reach out to their customer service, found out I had a warranty, and thought "cool maybe they can at least troubleshoot it". But, they did way more than that! I'm pretty sure my warranty was limited, but they didn't make me jump through any hoops, They only asked I do a few trouble shooting steps, and it only took 2 email replies For them to determine That I was eligible for a full brand new replacement. they quickly shipped out an entirely new lock, every last piece of one. I offered to send back the original and they told me not to worry about it. The were super responsive, super kind, super helpful, super amazing!! I could go on and on. The lock itself works phenomenal also. I don't have a bridge so it never seems to integrate with alexa, but the app rarely lags when I use it, I cab lock my doors from 100 or more ft away from the house, and the keypad lights up which is double awesome. I had been looking for a smartlock that did have "too many" methods of opening making it more vulnerable. The U-Bolt was a good compromise and if you want an ANSI grade 1 deadbolt you really have very few options. I was skeptical about the exterior button pattern but it's easy enough to navigate. The manual knob turns very smoothly and feels very sturdy. The electronics have worked perfectly with one caveat which I will detail down below: The after about a year the interior section failed to power on ever after replacing the batteries. I believe this was from the auto-locking feature getting stuck and burning itself out. (Note: even in a no-power state it still operated as a "dumb" lock maintaining my security.) I contacted U-Tec and worked though the troubleshooting steps and after confirming that the device had indeed failed, they sent me a new interior mechanism. Once replaced it returned to working perfectly again. Would recommend.

The lock itself is solid and easy to install. However, all other aspects of this purchase were awful. I recently renovated my home and replaced all door hardware with matte black door levers and locks. I purchased this lock specifically because it was completely black, matching the rest of the door hardware. In actuality, the key cylinder itself is silver and sticks out like a sore thumb. As you can see from the picture, it looks nothing like the picture of the item on the manufacturer's website. I assumed at first that I had just received the wrong item so I contacted customer support to get it swapped out. And that's where the descent into stunning ineptitude began. I tried multiple times over several days to contact them via phone but all attempts to get through were unsuccessful (you sit on hold for several minutes, then they drop the call). I then opened a ticket on their website. The first response is an utterly useless reply from a bot which forces you to reply to that email in order to re-open the ticket that you just opened. Eventually, the response from an actual human (all of whom seem to have great difficulty forming a direct reply to what you actually wrote) was equally useless: They just said that there are no black lock cylinders. When I sent them a picture from their website showing the lock with a black cylinder, they just stopped replying. So either they are deceptively marketing the locks with intentionally inaccurate pictures or they do have ones with black cylinders but their incompetent customer service doesn't know that or won't tell me that. Also the lock core is woefully easy to pick. Google lockpickinglawyer ultraloq. Lastly, it is really unclear to me what value this Bluetooth lock provides compared to just a non-smart keypad lock. You can't do anything with the lock unless you are within Bluetooth range which means I can't communicate with it even in parts of my home. So you can't check status or get alerts or anything. You might as well save the extra money and just get a keypad lock that you configure directly from the lock. Or you need to buy a considerably more expensive smart lock with WiFi, Z-wave or Zigbee so that you can actually do something useful with it.

At first, the lock wasn't opening when I punched in the code. There was a card in the product box that asked that a call be made to the manufacturer to resolve any issue before the product is returned to Amazon, so I decided to give them a call. The gentleman who answered the phone was very professional and took time to walk me through several scenarios to get to the root of the problem. He patiently waited while I unloaded the batteries and followed his instructions to try a reset. After several attempts, he surmised that the problem may be that the keyboard is faulty and that they would send a new unit. I received a follow-up email the same day with additional steps to take to try to resolve the issue. It turns out that the problem was with me and not the product. There is a button on the keypad that needs to be pressed before and after the access code is entered. Once I figured this out, the lock was working perfectly. So far, this product has been working flawlessly; I would purchase again, and I highly recommend.

this is an excellent product works exactly if not better than described. Easier to install easy to operate very reliable and the company has excellent customer service.

Brilliant product, works perfectly. I bought one for work and then one for home because it just makes life easier. I had an issue with the door sensor being broken and they replaced it quickly and with almost no fuss. Would definitely recommend.

Me gustó mucho la funcionalidad y no es muy ruidoso. Fue rápido y sencillo de instalar. El único inconveniente que noto es que te pide elegir una billetera NFC default. Así que si tienes tus pagos a través de Google Wallet, tienes que elegir entre Google Wallet o U-Home. En caso de usar Google Wallet no puedes llegar y utilizar tu teléfono rápidamente, necesitarás abrir la aplicación o te pedirá que confirmes utilizar U-Home. En caso de utilizar U-Home, no podrás utilizar pagos de Google Wallet a menos que abras la aplicación de Google Wallet.

I like that this lock will lock and unlock multiple ways. Lock with inside turn knob or outside with button or ket. Unlock from outside with phone NFC (or supplied fob - not both), key code, or key. Installation instructions were goodbut could be better. Tech support was very good. Auto lock feature works well but we decided not to use it. The only thing I haven't got working yet is the 'auto-unlock' feature. It's not a deal breaker for me because I can wave my phone (with the screen on) in front of the lock to unlock the door.
