this Model is Great Fun and has High Educational Value for those who appreciate research, and dont shy away from modification and invention required for making this in a more or less real looking model. If you are looking for a straightforward starting model with proper instructions and more or less "guaranteed" results this is not your kit.to explain myself further: I find that this is not a technical adequate model, where - for instance - steering and ground tackle are not correct, with a tiller type rudder ending nowhere, and with no connection possible between anchor cable and windlass. Modifacations of steering and focsle are required to give those essentials a proper look.I also find this a historically incorrect model, where - for instance - the frames do not depict a dutch build vessel with their typical flat bottom structure.I also find this model very difficult to plank, especially because of the concave frontsection. The kit does not provide proper instruction for planking. Proper planking is also difficult since there are no false keel, stem and stern, making it very difficult to give the planking a tight and edgy and realistic look. Giving the hull its proper look further invention is ruequired where the frames do not extend upwards enough to support the planking as depicted in the side view drawing of the model: drawing and frames do not match at this rather essential point. Conclusion: if you cant be bothered so much about history, looks and reality value, or if you like a challenge with a kit that could serve as basis for a 30% scratch build, this might be the boat for you.[...]Cheers!
