Great aftermarket product - Very impressed.
These rear air springs replaced the original springs after 156k miles. With a 2009 E550 and the original owner, I have become a big DIY mechanic. The installation video on the Arnott website is a must watch. The air spring itself is easy to install, ONLY AFTER you have prepped the vehicle to remove the old ones. I will say that the design to incorporate the air reservoir into the aftermarket spring was excellent. I owe the engineer a Coke. I ended up having to use a sharp blade to cut the old reservoir hoses as the were very difficult to access. Removing the bolts for the suspension and shocks was no walk in the park either but that is not the fault of the air springs. Just be prepared with a good air impact wrench and some arm strength as the spaces are tight to remove the bolts with the undercarriage causing obstructions for more capable tools. For a DIYer and the first time I have changed air springs, i took me 2 hours the first day to setup the vehicle, remove wheels, and suspension bolts. It took me 2.5 hours the next day to cut the hoses, remove the connection plugs, remove the springs, prep and install the new ones and then put everything back together and torque things back down. A few specialty tools would make it a bit shorter but the whole job was much shorter than trying to replace with new OEM air springs. The new ones work great and all 3 suspension modes (comfort, sport 1 & sport 2) all respond well. No more coming outside in the morning and seeing the rear of the car completely dropped.

Easy to Install, Better results
I done it myself, 3/8 hex, (2) 16mm wrench, (2) 18mm wrench, (1) 10mm wrench and something to cut the Reservoir hose off. The Video on the Arnott site was helpful but the control arm wasn’t necessary to remove. I done it the first one but I didn’t take it off for the second one. Make sure you lower the shock setting before you Jack the car up because to air the new shock up, you have to engage the higher lever on the shock. After I installed them the car leveled out well but on the test drive I got a message on the dashboard to visit the shop. I put the computer on the car and cleared the codes and it works fine now. It took me 2 hours and I’m not the best mechanic but a skilled mechanic told me that was good time to complete it. The hardest part was removing the bolts.

Saves Time and Money
Used these for rear of Airmatic suspension on 2004 MB E320. The OEM or Bilstein bags retain aluminum reservoirs with leak-prone hose connections to bags and installation appears to require drop of rear axle. These Arnott bags, while not as easy as some YouTube videos indicate, require only removal of the OEM bags and replacement with these. Removal of air and power connections to the OEM bags is a pain as is cutting of the hoses to the reservoir. For a car of this age, however, this seems to be the only cost-viable alternative. I took my time and doing this for the first time took less than 4 hours. With proper tools and experience, suspect that this is a 2-hour job.

Improvement Over OEM Air Strut 2004 MB E500 4Matic
2004 MB E500 4Matic.Installation Time (one-person), 6-hrs start-to-finish, this includes setup, cleanup, and test drive; includes 30-minute lunchbreak.I recommend watching the Kyle Bascombe installation video, and his deflation video for new and old air struts. Bascombe's videos tell you precisely the tools and torque specs. I created a step-by-step sequential guide from Bascombe's video to use as I worked. It's shared if you'd like to use it.Each side of the vehicle is unique with right-side (passenger) fuel fill tube obstructions. Not a big deal but a little different. The Voss fitting (brass air fitting) be careful with it, remove the white plastic stay after screwing it into the strut to allow the airline to insert. Deflating the new air strut, don't overdo it, just enough to get it into position. If I had to do this job again, I could probably reduce the start-to-finish time by 2-hrs.I would like to add that the vendor selling the struts is great to work with, excellent communication, and the struts arrived on time and in premiere condition. Thank you!Good Luck, and Safety-Safety-Safety!

working good, on my Mercedes for more than three months ...
This product lasted less than a year in my Mercedes, I gave it 5 star on earlier review but I withdrew it. Now I will give 2 star, the seller really don't care to response to any complain about the warranty issue on the product and you will feel out a long warranty form in another website and you are under their messy for any warranty claim. That goes to show there is no back up for this product from this seller(shockwarehouse). I will not recommend this seller, this product might be good and how long it can last is a big question mark. I may buy it again but definitely not from this seller above. Buy from amazon market place or from the maker of the product itself and save your self this trouble.
