LDS Preparedness Manual, V8, 2012 Edition (Volume 8.xx)

This is, by far, the BEST preparedness book I've read (and I own nearly a dozen books on the topic).

I have carefully researched the subject and bought/read many, many books, videos, and articles on prepping/survival in unfortunate circumstances. This is by far the best prepping book I have found - truly a one volume compendium on a wide range of subjects. Topics are treated in enough detail to be effective without being repetitive. Tables and examples are clear and checklists are well composed. It is not simply a re-hash or cut and paste of ready.gov and other works in the public domain. Though much of what is presented is definitely common-sense - no matter your politics, religion, or personal experience, this book is straight forward, concise, and well researched. It is obvious that the authors have real-world and practical experience based on first person observation and decades of results. Consumption estimates seem realistic though framed from the perspective of a family or small cooperative group. I wish I could get a look at Book 1 but this volume is worth every page, penny, and space in your pack despite its size and weight.

I have had this book in digital form for many years but wanted it in paper form just incase my digital copy gets lost. I have read, and re-read this book several times, yet always find something new I can learn from.

I bought this for my wife. Her reaction has been remarkable. At least once a day since she received it she has come to me and said "That book is TOTALLY AWESOME" and offers to tell me what article in particular she has discovered to be SPOT ON or super informative. Money VERY well spent for sure. Whatta DEAL! Note: We are not Mormons but it is very important to note that ANYONE can make full use of this incredible book.

I am not a Mormon. I have my faith and believe in the right for others to have theirs. That being said...WOW! This book is jammed packed with information that is extremely helpful and well thought out. I haven't finished it and even if I did I couldn't remember it all. It is a great reference. It does not try to push Mormon beliefs on the reader too hard, far less than I expected, so it is readable by a lot of people of different faiths or none. That really impressed me. I expected a sermon every page, I couldn't have been more wrong. Worried about preparedness? Get this book! It doesn't have to be the end of the world, maybe a storm or an extended power outage or losing your job or unexpected illness...we all could do with a little, or a lot, of preparing. Thanks. RB

Very informative. I'm only halfway through the book. And I'm finding it very interesting, very good.

I love this book. It's good for beginners and semi-pros. I was worried it would just be a beginner book. It gives tons of lists so that you can get more organized. And even more resources to keep learning more! Thank you!

If you are new to prepping or even if you are experienced, this book is a wealth of information on every topic from food storage to security to bugging out! Well worth the money.
