This is simply because people were being ignorant of the fact that this product comes from US and needs a step down converter to get it going in India. The seller contacted me twice on two different days to make sure that I was aware of it. Please please please don’t plug in this music system without a step down converter. It has 120V and hence you would need something which can withstand 150V and above capacity for a smoother performance. Mine works perfectly without any sort of disruption. Thank you for your fast delivery and at most care in letting me know and reminding me to buy a step down converter. Will be happy to shop with you again. Useless product. Did not work even for a second. The thing probably got burnt on plugging, because we have 220V in India, while this is made for 110V. Absolute nonsense. Why sell in India ?

It works very well
I'm impressed how the quality of the sound is crisp. It sounds very clear. Yes, it works with batteries and electricity. Very good product and price. I recommend.

Guess what......the CD player works! unlike 2 others that I ordered
I purchased this GPX CD player for my 81 year old mother so she could listen to the radio, and more importantly, to CD's. It works great! I ordered and received two other CD players prior to this one (a Memorex and Craig). The CD portions did not work. GPX was my first choice, however, I ordered the other ones because of the shipping time. The GPX was on back order. In retrospect, I wish that I had waited patiently and ordered it first. I highly recommend this product!
