Amazon Basics Blend & Go Smoothie Blender, 600 ml, 600 W - Black

I've owned a Nutri Ninja professional blender for years. It always worked well but recently the original lid began to leak. After purchasing an after-market replacement, this leaked too. The price for an original new lid wasn't far off the price of this whole blender, which made me decide to get this instead as a change.First impressions, the packaging itself is very simple – the item comes literally in a cardboard box, no branding, nothing. This to me is a good sign – it means they're saving money in obvious places.You get a lot here for your money. The blender unit, 2 cups, one blade and one cup lid. Everything feels surprisingly decent quality. Nothing to me feels flimsy or 'cheap'. The fact you get 2 cups for such a reasonable price is a very nice touch. I honestly would have been happy with one.My previous blender was the kind where you slot the cup into the base and press the whole cup down to turn the blender on. This Amazon blender just has a nice simple button on the base unit that you hold down. I prefer this, it just feels much easier to use. The unit isn't any noisier than my previous blender, it may even be slightly quieter due to being lower power.I primarily use this blender to mix up protein shakes quickly and easily. I also use it for breakfast smoothies involving ingredients such as bananas and fine oats. It does these 2 jobs well. Being rated at 600w, it takes a little more time than a more powerful unit, but this isn't really an issue. I haven't used it for making proper fruit smoothies involving more fibrous ingredients so can't comment on this. I also can't comment on its ability to blend ice.It's worth noting that the cups are quite tall and narrow compared to other alternatives on the market. This can make drinking out of them trickier than a wide cup, if like me you drink directly from the cup with no lid on. Think champagne glass vs wine glass and you get the idea. Not a deal breaker but it's certainly something I noticed. Cleaning the cups is an issue, I can't get my hand in the top so have to use a washing up brush to get in there.Overall for the price there really isn't anything to complain about here. Although my blender requirements are fairly minimal compared to some, for light uses this is a good choice.

I've had previous 300w blenders but they have struggled with frozen fruit and ice. The only thing that was confusing with the description of this blender is that it says it is 600w and then in the bullet points it says it is 300w.I took the gamble and ordered it as it wasn't breaking the bank and was delighted when it arrived that it is indeed 600w. It copes easily with the frozen fruit and mixes really easily. Previous models I've had to remove the bottle and give it a shake and then try again.Quick, easy and fantastic value.

Bought this purely for making smoothies for breakfast, does exactly whats needed powerful enough to blend up hard fruits and oats.only complaint is the drinking hole on the bottles is not very large so you cant drink what you've mixed very quickly

Works brilliantly for crushing ice cubes and frozen fruit in cocktails. No sign of any scratches on the container as yet.Has also been used to make banana milkshakes and mixed perfectly with everything blended.It's the perfect size for mixing drinks for one or two people, and being supplied with two containers is a bonus, as are the lids which double as drinking spouts.I do love a simple but clever design !

Quite slim so hard to wash if you don’t have a long brush. It was quite powerful and working fine until the plastic band broke (the seal) so now I have to bin it. Would invest in a pricier one.

I just purchased this to replace our old blender. I mainly use for mixing up protein shakes. Assembly out of the box is very clear and simple. I also like that the blade is transferable between bottles and they also come with their own sipping lids which is very convenient.The blade is not massive so I can't comment on it's ability or durability on harder items but that doesn't affect me.Made my first shake within 10 minutes of the parcel arriving very happy with the purchase.

Very easy to use.After reading other reviews I find it is indeed powerful. Used to crush ice when making smoothies with no problems on pulsing.Like the plastic bottles included they seem well made and the clock lid doesn't open or leak.Would highly recommend best for the price paid.
