BORMIOLI ROCCO Round Storage Bowls With Lids, 1 EA

These are really beautiful and sturdy bowls for storing food. The lids have a double-lip to seal tightly. I have admired my friend's set for years and finally asked him what they were and bought my own set. I had read some reviewer's comment that they are not made in Italy; they are stamped on each piece that they are made in Italy. I can't vouch for their durability in a microwave, as they're too nice to risk! I have some decades-old Nordicware pieces for that purpose. I'm uploading a photo of the instructions, which seem to indicate that the bowls can be used for freezing but NOT for microwaving above 158 degrees.I really like that you can stack all four bowls and their covers together so that they take up no more room than the largest bowl.

WOW was i ever bummed when my soup that i went to put in the freezer leaked ALL over the place.I thought maybe i did not put the lid on correctly, but no these do NOT hold seal . If you use these do not tip them at all.So disappointed !! I will only buy Rubbermaid glass containers from now on at least i know they do not leak.

There are glass bowls. I ordered them as I read some great reviews about the lids. They are basic and similar to pyrex.

These small glass storage containers are just right for storing left overs. I don't know if they are microwave proof--I didn't keep the paperwork but it doesn't matter to me.I like the frosted lids which match my large storage bowls also from Frigovere, but they do break easily rather than the Pyrex which are sturdier and cheaper but they have a dark blue not so nice looking lid. I stayed with the matching set, but next time I will go with the Pyrex for better value and durability.

no fragile sign was put on the box it shipped in. Outer container was cracked. Inner containers have lids which do not form a tight seal. I have 2 other sets like this which I bought in Crate and Barrel a while back. Their lids were fine. These containers come with instructions that say that they are good from freezer to fridge to microwave. You just have to be smart enough to know that you must wait a while before placing the container from one location to another. If not you will wind up with a useless cracked container. I have used them in the oven, fridge and freezer but have been afraid to nuke in them because the glass is not thick like other glass containers that I have bought exclusively for microwave to freezer to fridge. For sure these are much healthier than using a plastic container of any kind!

These perfect for storing and serving leftovers. Just be sure not to heat them too quickly; I cracked one dish this way. Now, if I put something directly from the fridge to the microwave, I warm it for a minute and then rest it for a minute before running the full cook time. Fyi, the round pieces are easier to hand wash than the squares and rectangles, thought they could also just go in the dish washer.

I use these constantly. They keep my food fresh for weeks and I love that you can nest them when not in use, upside down so the plastic lid rests in the next bowl so they don't move around. Best investment I've made in a long time, buying for family. Easy to store in fridge.

For more than 10 years, I was a happy customer of Bormioli Rocco. However, I had to return my most recent order twice because of bubbles in the glass and obvious scratches. After the third replacement also contained scratches and defects in one of the containers I gave up. I guess I'll just use the three smaller ones. Bormioli Rocco's standards have fallen lately.
